Camille and Xin Zhao...

So for those of you who dont know, Riot released Camille into the PBE today. Obviously, this triggered a whole slew of youtubers who closely monitor the PBE for new and exciting content.

When I first saw Camille gameplay on Youtube, my first thought literally was "This girl is Xin Zhao, but better."

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks so. There are a few people in the boards that think so too.

Camille has an auto-attack modifier on her Q, like Xin Zhao. She has a heal on her W, like Xin Zhao. She has a gap-closer on her E, like Xin Zhao. Her R basically functions exactly the same as Xin Zhao's R.

The difference between Camille and Xin Zhao are that, Camille is tankier with her passive 20% max health shield than Xin Zhao. Camille has true damage on her Q unlike Xin Zhao's physical damage. Camille's W does more damage than Xin's W, heals more, and slows too. Camille's E has a STUN compared to the slow on Xin's E, and she can use it to escape. Camille's R prevents her target from escaping her, unlike Xin's.

Xin Zhao can technically do more damage than Camille, but that is more than offset by the fact that Camille is so much more versatile than Xin Zhao.

As a Xin Zhao main, this really makes me sad. But at least when Riot finally reworks Xin Zhao (whenever that is), at least I know I can just use Camille and be a better Xin Zhao than he is right now.

Xin needs remake - simplistic design that is too strong or too weak depending on how many stuns/ dashes/ ranged champions the enemy team has... He is one of the strongest champions on Dominion/ Ascensions, but not that great on SR.

It's been four years since his first rework, and he needed that first rework because Riot overreacted and nuked him into chunky salsa (16 consecutive nerfs) after his broken release.

I've been thinking about this for a bit.

Xin is a very simple champion with very simple gameplay and there are a lot of champions who are exactly like him but with this or that twist.

Why not simply retire Xin? give him some final set of balancing shoves, and forget he ever existed?

That made me really sad. I still have hope that Riot hasn't forgotten Xin Zhao. I mean, they did rework Yorick recently, and I think they actually did a really good job on that. Maybe when Xin gets reworked, he'd finally have a place in League of Legends.

With seriousness now:

Why not? What is the argument for giving Xin a whole new kit and "update him", when you can put a while new champion with that new kit on the board?

They already did that though. Her name is Camille.
