Be Honest: the reason why there aren't so many supports is because it's not a funny role to play.

Why are there so few supports going around Team Builder? Why, in blind pick, do the people hate when they call the role last and they must go supp?

The reason is one, and you all should be honest: Support is NOT a funny role to play. Obviously, this is a game, and even if win is important, people want to have fun, which they have not playing support.

Playing support can be necessary to win, but.. placing wards, waiting for gold and running around botlane, defending a child-like adc, always depressed for mana and that ridiculous damage, sacrificing for allies etc.. there's no fun doing all these things and it's like being a mum. Do mums like being mums? i think not. Do i want to become a mum when i play LoL? No.

Make support role funnier OR more interactive, and there will be a balance among roles, especially in teambuilder.

I don't think "support is unfun so people don't play it", I think it's just as fun as any other role can be, but people simply don't like bot lane because they blame their lane partner for not being as good as them and holding them back. If people would stop being afraid that their lane partner will suck we'd have more bot lane mains.

I like supporting when I don't get mid lane...I play Janna

BUT

The 3 support that make the lane stressful and worrisome instead of fun are:

Blitzcrank Leona Thresh

Whenever I play Janna, I always feel like going against these supports, I'm trying to just keep them at bay instead of actually having fun. Like back, back off my ADC you monsters! shakes newspaper at Leona

placing wards is pretty funny

like when you go to ward a bush, only to see Morgana's binding hit you and the entire enemy team immediately collapses on you

always a good laugh

people dont like to play support because they are trash and dont know how people who say its "boring" tend to be the worst supports

Aerothal8/14/2015, 7:40:52 PM2 votes

of course its not funny! there's nothing to laugh about when i have to support shitters like you!

I actually think its really fun to play support. I am only playing 4 different supports, but when i do: Soraka: Oh, thats nice poke you have guys, it would be bad if someone outheals all of it. And later i just laugh when enemies try to kill my ADC as 3x1, only to see that he is healed by 200 hp every 1.2 seconds, and ignite's GW removed by ult, and there is also AOE silence. So after this ny ADC walks away with triple kill while enemies saying something like "op soraka" Morgana: Oh, thats nice CC you have guys, it would be bad if someone shields it. Also, hit Q=enemy loses half HP. After 6 its usually double kill after hitting Q Leona: Oh, thats nice ADC you have guys, it would be bad if someone stunlocks him for eternity. And after 2-3 items(with gauntlet) its like "Hey, I am an ADC, and Leona is a support, I can 1x1 easily... ok, lets wait for stun to end, she has no damage... ok, her W did some damage, but thats it... hey, something is wrong, let me flash away, please... NOOO, NOT ULT+E PLS" Taric: Stun=enemy loses 1/3 hp usually, and also its fun outhealing enemy poke, however not as much as Soraka. But after item 3401 +item 2049 +item 3025 +item 3111 he can 1x1 everything who is not overfed, and sometimes even 1x2. And of course, write in allchat "Gems are truly outrageous" after every solokill

I have just as much fun supporting as when I jungle or top especially with bard or braum

Bullshit, playing support is a ton fun.

You don't have to worry about last hitting, you get all your gold basically for free, you get to be a dick to the other team by constantly poking them and making their life hell, you contribute so much in team fights from relative safety because of your utility, usually you are a lot faster then everybody else in the game which makes dodging skillshots easier and its fun to race around, you get to frustrate the enemy to no end by saving people all the time with your heals and CC, laugh at raging teammates when you accidentally kill someone, go full mage build if the situation allows it and carry that shit and laugh at your enemies as you bring the rapetrain.

Don't be a mom, be a bitch!!! XD

But oh no supports don't get to have fun because we're supposed to babysit other people and don't get to kill shit. Here's a weird thought, maybe not everybody wants to play the game in the same way, maybe some people actually do like playing support.

playing support always sucks. the game play is boring, your team will bitch about every single mistake and blame you for everything that is why no one wants to do it. no matter what you do, some one on your team is bitching that you are not doing something else.

funny?

Aeldys8/14/2015, 6:34:41 PM1 votes

If a support dies 20x in a match, that's funny (mission accomplished). Actually, adc is the least favorite role to play in TB, and imo, the quality of adc increases as you climb the rank ladder.

People enjoy getting kills. Traditional supports (man, forget Annie. hate playing Annie support) don't have the tools in their kit to secure most kills. Even as a support main, sometimes I see someone low and go 'oh oh I hope I get the kill!'

They tried doing something different with Bard; just look at the backlash that came with it.

Mum.. Mom? Mother? Most mothers would say they enjoy being a mother. What's a mum.

Isn't Team Builder having a harder time finding ADC's lately? Wouldn't that imply that "right-click-to-win" is less fun?

Erockandroll8/14/2015, 7:17:34 PM1 votes

Most of the supports that I actually have fun playing as are mage supports. And here's why.

a) Supports are useful up until the point where the ADC fcks up. After which, bot lane will likely get pushed into your tower, likely damaging your tower in the process, and bot lane loses the minion farm, unless you have some ability to wave clear.

b) You have wave clear. Although your not suppose to take farm, you can if you have to. this is important, if your team lacks wave clear, or if your allies relegate you to wave management. (while they chase enemies for kills like a Benny Hill gag.)

c) If steps A and B take place. You can become an effective APC. More so in Lower ELO because if your laners (and their opponents) don't have the sterling CS counts. Than the support gold isn't even that far off.

Frankly, I find the support role entertaining. I mean, I'm terrible at it personally, but knowing that you're the one keeping your team alive in most if not all fights, knowing they couldn't have caught that kill without your help, being the sole reason a counter-initiation worked (as supports tend to have the most teamfight-changing effects in the game), and the fact that you don't actually need to worry about killing enemy champions to be effective are all enjoyable aspects.

Hell, my brother actually mains support because he does better as a backup than a lead.
