Fizz or Vayne?

Fizz is fun + easy to use. Vayne takes some time to master, highly skilled. You pick.

Er, this is a really really hard question. Fizz and Vayne really cannot be compared, as they do vastly different things. Fizz can go a lot more ham, and he's a lot more slippery than Vayne, but it really depends on your favorite playstyle.

I'm an ADC main, so of course I prefer Vayne (my favorite champ :D), but that's only cause I like the ADC playstyle.

Who is better in team fights or a 1v1?

Fizz goes in to assassinate a single target in a team fight. He dives in, takes out that squishy target, and uses his abilities to get out before being killed. Vayne sticks in the back of fights and shreds through the tanks with consistent damage and periodic stealth. Fizz wins most 1v1's later on due to how his kit is centered around picking off one target, but Vayne is really good at 1v1's as far as ADC's are concerned.

What I would suggest is going on YouTube and looking up "Fizz gameplay" and "Vayne gameplay".

Yeah, I have been watching Anklespankin and his vids to decide. I have been wanting to work on my ADC skills but I am good at assassin champions and find them really fun.

One of the reasons I like Vayne so much is that she functions as a semi-assassin. It's really fun when the enemy support leaves lane and you can Ult and wreck thier ADC, as she wins almost all ADC 1v1's once she gets items. If you wanna work on your ADC skills but like the assassin playstyle, try Lucian and Quinn. Both of them have high burst damage and can pick off targets fairly well.

If you were to put in the same amount of effort into both champions, Fizz has a much higher success rate. On vayne, you have to play perfect to make the same impact as you do on fizz.
