The removal of draft combined with slow patching makes people grow tired of this game

My friend just told me that he faced yasuo top 6/7 games and lee yesterday and it feels like playing super mario on the same level every games. With draft we could at least ban champs that was op/broken/annoying/being played like every game. now i can't play one single relaxed game without facing the same champs over and over. I would like to be able to play top/mid without having to face yasuo/lee sin every god damn game. It's seriouslt not fun to play the game with these champs every game, not that i claim that they are super op, but i am tired of facing them, way to monotonous.

Last season i grew so tired of this i started to almost only play draft. It was worth waiting through ban phase to actually being able to ban frequently played champs to have some diversity. Now i have to play flex que to be able to ban champs and that que has horrible match making and i can't play nunu mid there without getting 4 reports and constantly being flamed.

Please bring back draft riot... <3

"In a perfect world we'd like to remove draft from all regions."

None of your playerbase wants that, Riot. I can't imagine anyone saying, "Huh, draft is dumb. I wish I could just play blinds instead."

I know I'm taking it out of context but I really cannot support the mindset to remove draft.

The fact that the current state of the game isn't overly fun at the moment isn't helping.

  • Many of the overtuned champions are ones who have always been popular and unhealthy (i.e. Lee Sin, Yasuo, Vayne) plus Camille
  • The ADC role is rather weak as a whole with a couple exceptions (which is why Ziggs is being taken bottom lane to replace them)
  • Support itemization is very generic (Sightstone, Redemption, Locket being core on almost everything but mage supports)
  • First Blood Tower and Dragons have basically ruined bottom lane;ames are often decided by whoever manages to 4-man gank bottom lane first since it provides a massive advantage in gold, pressure and objective control.
  • Autofill is worsening the previous issues since many are being autofilled into support and ADC without much experience in those roles. If their opponents are competent (and/or premade), they will stomp the laning phase and quickly dominate the rest of the game without issue.
  • Masteries (including Keystone masteries) remain rather biased towards damage due to having two trees full of offensive bonuses. Meanwhile, the majority of the Resolve tree is minor defensive or utility buffs; Fearless and Courage of the Colossus are the only two masteries which actually provide a noticeable defensive bonus.
  • The current patch has dragged on for a month due to the holidays and it has been a rather poor one.
  • Due to the snowbally nature of games, many are just complete stomps for one team or another

Honestly, I've been giving serious consideration to quitting; I've been continuing primarily due to inertia since the game has been consistently becomes less enjoyable and more frustrating.

Slow patching? Riot patches their game more than any other game I've ever played. Some people even complain they patch the game too often and don't let changes settle. It did slow down over the holidays, but they should be back in full force now.

I don't think you can really attribute the burn out of the game to draft removal, and not really even slowed patch cycles.

If anything it's more connected to the lack of player identity and the forced inflexibility of champion play styles. The disparity between the optimal and the gimmick builds has become too great, and to play a champion to a valid power level often requires a very specific play style. As a result, there are only maybe 150 play styles in the game which are remotely viable. Which sadly will not appeal to everyone or burns people out, when they are only interested in a couple of the champion playstyles and completely disinterested in the others.

I use to be able to play AD malz for weeks without burning out, then a mix of other champions for a week or two, and then jump back on AD malz. They removed one of the few play styles which was keeping me interested in the game, and now it's almost impossible to keep my interest. I burn out on the game in a few days, after seeing the same 10-15 champions, being played exactly the same every game. It's not even hard to beat them, because they are so predictable, but it's just boring.

So play ranked?

What is normal draft even for?
