Invulnerability/Untargetable

So... as you may have guessed this is about Fizz. His kit says that he becomes untargetable, but he also becomes immune to damage except d.o.t. effects like summoner 14 and d.f.t. I think if Fizz can take dmg while in his e he will become a more balanced champion fitting in a niche where he counters point and click type champions like Katarina but is weak against "free cast" champions like Zed. Thoughts?

No, because he is untargetable, not immune. He can take damage from DOT but not other skills because he is untargetable. Yi works the same way with his Q.

Untargetability shouldnt stop damage. Of any kind.

Fioras W needs to be nerfed as well. like SUPER nerfed.

Untargetability shouldn't block projectiles that are already on the way. Especially things that are supposed to be undodgeable, such as tower shots. Tower shots go through Fiora W and Jax E,but Fizz can dodge them with his Playful/Trickster. Balance team sure knows how to do it...

... I don't understand. ... How would something be untargetable and take damage? Or how do you deal damage to something that is untargetable?

That is kinda the point to these abilities, so I don't see how you could take the untargetable aspect away and not expect to completely change the ability.

Untargetability means you cannot be targeted. Targeted spells and AoE spells are ENTIRELY different.

No. Untargetable in this game means that you cannot be hit at all, it's not a literal meaning. No champion who becomes untargetable can be hit by AOE spells.

I mean it in the sense that if he is in his e you cannot aa or cast say Katarina's q or e but he still can be damaged by zed's q or e since they are "free cast spells" and don't require a target. Does this help? Sorry if I didn't explain it well the first time [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

I think I understand what you're wanting but I don't think you're understanding the real definition of untargetable. You're close, and correct in saying that they shouldn't be able to be directly targeted by aa's and direct target abilities, however in this case untargetable is a status. It means no NEW damage may be applied for the duration. So as you mentioned, D.O.T.s still deal damage, unlike invulnerability.

because when you did target him you could have left a dot that would kill him on his pole. Just because you can't reach him on his pole doesn't mean he isn't burning.

of course real life logic doesn't really apply to games so riot can have it however they want.

Yeah, I get that. If you light someone on fire and they run into a house (let's say a bulletproof house), you can't shoot them, but they're still on fire.

He's not immune to damage while on his pole. He takes damage from all DoTs on him. I believe he also takes damage from delayed damage like Zed's ult and Vlad's ult, but I'm not positive. If he doesn't, he certainly should.

at the very least, tower shots.

I think he should still be succeptable to aoe damage while on his trollpole, albeit massively reduced but still succetable, something like: Fizz only takes 25% of aoe damage while on trollpole. Jax is succeptable to aoe damage while counterstriking, he gets a 15% aoe damage reduciton but that's it, he'll still eats 85% of any aoe that goes through and counterstrike is just half as spammable as trollpole and hardly has as big impact unless a whole opposing team clumps together like if they're discoing, which just doesn't happen outside bronze.

Um so you want to buff zed?

Spoofghoul1 votes

I think displacements should be able to knock him off his pole applying his E damage to himself

the only thing am asking is to increase fizz E cooldown .or make turrets hit u even if your untargetable.

I think he should still be somewhat immune to attacks such as skillshots. However, the way I would make his E work would be he could only be hit by dots, AOE, and any spells or auto attacks that are already locked on to him.
