Wards are pillars of safety, a light in the darkness that is the fog of war. Makes sense that its the support icon.

Yeah, I can see why people might be annoyed by that. Problem is that supporting has such a diverse cast it is hard to pin them under one label. You have to find an image that fits Sona, Blitzcrank, and Zyra.

Maybe a tower similar to the Garrison summoner spell? I feel that has the idea of a presence unifying a team, any other ideas out there?
