It said also that Gangplank was gonna get the rework before Poppy kinda curious now as to why riot said they were doing Poppy first or am I just missing out on something here?

They already said that.

I remember a post here...quite a while ago, that GP would have his stuff release this year and Poppy maybe late or early next year.

They have multiple team doing stuff, one is just changing some of a champ kit while the other is changing EVERYTHING from looks, story, lines, kits, and skins.

Think of it this way: you have 2 people in a 10 mile race. While they both start running at the same time, 1 of them (GP) starts at mile 5 while the other person (Poppy) starts at mile 0. Who do you think is going to reach mile 10 first?

My understanding on the reworks is different teams are reworking characters at the same time, so it may just be that GP's team has gotten him to a point they like before Poppy's team.

plans change, things get switched around.

at that time perhaps that is how it was supposed to be, but maybe they ran into a problem and had to put it on hold to figure something out.

Alternatively, maybe gp WILL get his rework first. do we know for a fact that he won't? Poppy is probably coming soon though, it's almost time.

im guessing that because poppy needs a visual change too, thats why shes taking longer

Poppy is getting a full scale rework like Sion. New art and gameplay.

Gangplank is getting a mini rework like Ashe. Just a few tweaks to his abilities but no large scale changes. I think they have said that his Q and W will be very similar to what is on live, with his E getting the bulk of the changes.

Riot has been talking about how Poppy is the next large scale rework ever since Sion was reworked, but that doesn't mean smaller scale reworks are not going to happen in the mean time (Ashe, GP, who knows who else).
