can we get a map awareness tutorial you have to pass to play ranked?

it would consist of you, in a lane, with a fight going on just on the other side of the closest bush (river basically) while you are farming minions. to pass you have to stop farming minions, or jungle creeps, and join the fight.

i know, i know the game would be to hard. just an idea

also for laughs check the insane amount of -1 votes i get from upper tier players who think elo hell is a conspiracy to nerf their main

I never passively look at my minimap unless I want to check/estimate enemy jungle timers or check which lanes are pushing.

On my smurf I also see people in the situation fighting nearby. If I think we lose the 2v2 I don't bother helping. Hell, even if we would win it I rarely help. I don't trust low elo idiots and I would rather just farm my jungle than waste time on an idiot.

This is exactly what I mean about little shit stains using toxic for everything.

It isn't toxic to ignore suicidal teammates. Better one death than two.

lol The name definitely fits, but the logic is reasonable. Same way if I see my jungler going 1v1 and I'm midlane as an Orianna say, against a Syndra, or a Katarina I'm 100% not joining the fight, since it will most likely result in a double kill for my opponent.

What I hate about people who say "why don't you follow, or aren't you watching the map?" is that they don't think more than 1 step ahead. OK, you're in a 1v1. An ally can join you, to make it a 2v1 but now there is nothing to keep an enemy of that same position from joining as well. You've gone from an unfavorable 1v1 to an unfavorable 2v2 and compounded your problems. If you both die that's 600 gold + an objective taken most likely, Suddenly a mere loss of 300 gold is looking pretty good.

To the original post I can think of several instances where you're much better of simply pushing the wave into tower, and focusing down that objective than actually joining the fight.

  1. the enemy team is ahead and it's a small skirmish, from people who have died multiple times already and are probably worth little gold
  2. You could win the fight but they are burst champions and by the time you arrive they would have gone through their spell rotation and end the fight,
  3. The person is simply low health even if you go there they will be able to kill them in front of you and walk away (this is situational)
  4. The turret is low, and the fight is only 50/50, in which case the fight is a distraction and it's trade off, 300 for the certain global gold (especially if it's first turret gold).

Here is a typical situation.... enemy mid laner and jungler go bot. four people bot lane. Botlane could be dived. How about instead of "pay attention to the minimap, jg and mid come bot lane", the jungler and midlaner take the mid turret instead of wasting their time going for a turret that's already lost. If they react fast enough they may even get the mid turret quicker which is more valuable than the bot turret. What this game needs is not a lesson about "paying attention to the minimap" It's about making the right trades and taking the right fights.

Kind of hard if your playing yorick or tryndamere who need to splitpush. At least jax and nasus can teamfight. No low o player is good at map awareness unless they're a jg main or a midlane main.

Generally it shouldn't matter as much in low tiers, a lot of players tend to throw and the ones that are doing bad can atleast be a meat sheild, now if you do see someone INTENTIONALLY staying in his lane, farming all game then all you have to do is report him based on his actions. No need to flame or call him out for mistakes, it just makes it worse.
