Who can NOT get demolished in lane vs. Darius?

I can't think of anyone that can get around his kit. Darius bullies everyone...

ADC top lane is hilariously risky.

It's not like bot lane where two people can have everything that needs to be warded constantly warded. ADC top lanes find themselves incredibly vulnerable to most jungle ganks (now, if the enemy jungler is a yi, then yea, top lane is probably going to be easy).

That's part of why the juggernauts and tanks take top solo. They have the best chance of surviving a gank out of all the classes. That also shows why many junglers are reluctant to gank top.

All singed needs to do for his jungler is use his sticky spray and run in for the fling. Vayne will have to punch him back leaving her vulnerable to the jungle.

Who knows right?

If ADC top lane were so great, it'd be a hell of a lot more common than it is now.

which won't connect thanks to vayne's range, she will be far enough so singed won't get her.

Vayne will have to punch him back leaving her vulnerable to the jungle.

as singed didn't get in rage she will still have it, as well as her tumble, and all this assuming she didn't ward. plus, your jungler can't be there 100% of the times. you will still be unable to get a single cs, which will make a difference big enough. simply she will destroy his hp when he gets near a minion to farm.

If ADC top lane were so great, it'd be a hell of a lot more common than it is now.

it is very common, i see it more often than not.

Just pick Jayce He easily out ranges Darius pull and should never get caught and even if he does he can just knock him away with his melee form. Very easy lane.

Anyone can demolish Darius in lane, you just need to play a lot better than you normally do, make lighting fast decisions, and try a lot harder than a Darius will ever have to do.

On a side note, ranged champs will do well against him, but you have to be careful. AA range for a ranged attacker will put you right in the "sweet spot" for his Q and E. Have mobility in your kit will also help you, Fizz Jax JarvanIV Teemo Quinn are decent match ups. You will also need to change your itemization a bit like buying boots on your first or second back because kiting him is essential. Buy executioner's calling if you can in order to cut down on his sustain or take ignite.

The second option is to out-sustain him. Champs that also have a bit of tankiness help. Nasus Renekton Garen Aatrox Illaoi DrMundo Chogath Fiora Tryndamere Trundle These champs will probably be your best bet. (Fiora is more of a skill match-up than anything) You really cant burst a good Darius down so you will probably have to settle with a strong kiter or duelist to beat him.

Best of wishes, a Teemo main.

Anyone who suggest nasus into darius has questionable intellect.

Kasyrgan1 votes

Only people with questionable intellect can't dodge a predictable Q like Darius's that has a delay as well. Only people with questionable intellect can't use Nasus's slow to kite out Darius and his slow. [slayer-jinx-unamused]

You're in bronze and you seem to have never played nasus, or at least you haven't played him in a while. Allow me to help you since I do have extensive experience with nasus and some experience with the nasus vs darius matchup as both nasus and darius.

Nasus needs to go in to stack or he loses A LOT of CS. Darius can always Q nasus then.

Nasus can't use his slow just to kite out of Darius' slow. Darius' slow has a low cost and is spammable, nasus slow chunks his mana very fast if he uses it too much. Also, nasus' slow doesn't last long enough for a complete disengage after level 3 when darius gets his pull alongside his W.

Basically, nasus is completely reliant on the jungler to change his lane.

I think a good Nasus can do OK verse a Darius. I see the matchup so much as a Nasus main that I became very accustomed to laning verse Darius and Renekton. Typically, against a good Darius the best a Nasus can do is match CS if the Nasus is of comparable skill. But if the Darius is overly aggressive a Nasus can capitalize on his mistakes (over extending, taking a turret shot etc.). I pretty much just try not to die against Darius and his kit is pretty telegraphed. Also I put points into W after Q instead of E to keep Darius away from me and increase the potency of the slow. Wither is only 80 mana at all ranks so casting it if Darius threatens you isn't too much of an issue.

Darius is easy to gank and a proficient jungler should be able to recognize when he can be killed. I also ping him to retreat if I know we can not both kill him before his approach. I just farm under turret most of the time against him. I usually just pay attention to Darius' abilities and his mana. I've grown so accustomed to the matchup that I can tell whether the Darius is good very quickly and adjust my play accordingly. I probably could play Darius in the top lane even though I never touched the champion by just mimicking the good Darius players. That's how frequently I lane against him. Other champions like Graves,Pantheon, and Ekko I have a harder time with. Ekko if they they are good disrupt my farming early a lot.

Being a lane bully is generally not a problem. The problem is when you can negate an entire poll of champions - on Darius' case, he smacks just about any melee champion, so you have to ban him so that this is not a problem.

No champion can beat Darius because his kit is broken... this champ get 200+ AD from his passive... thats stupid, he dont even need AD items... and he has NEVER been nerfed since world 2015!

Add Irelia to the mix and that's about right, just bait his q and dodge it, the harass cause has has no damage for a few seconds

Maokai if you are good with your abilities you can negate a lot of his damage. Mao has always been my go to for lane bullies in Top lane.

The problem with maokai is that he can't outdamage darius, and a lot of what maokai does is melee range. Maokai is incredibly easy for darius to five stack and it's incredibly hard for maokai to run away after going in.

At level 6, maokai gets shat on since his ultimate isn't good for dueling at all whereas darius is always relevant (not to mention darius ultimate breaks through the damage reduction that maokai's ultimate gives him).

Stephenizgod1 votes

Well you goal is not to kill Darius, although I always do because Maokai deals a lot of damage, it is to not die.

You use your W to dodge his Q, then immediately Q and run away because he can't catch you and you got free poke. At level 6 he is much more of a threat, so you want to use Q and E to harass him as much as possible. Like i said your goal is not to kill him, its just to survive him, so you should have an easy time of it if you play like that. Mao is one of the easiest lanes for your Jungler to gank because he has a bunch of easy CC and his ult is great at 2v2's. Mid-late game you basically just keep Darius and other divers off your backline, you are not going to be dealing a lot of damage but you will be tanking it.

If you want someone who can kill Darius, you are going to want to try Ranged top laners, if you just don't want to die then Maokai is a good choice if you know when to use your abilities.

It's true that maokai can simply out-tank darius most of the time. However, that will require him missing a lot of cs if the darius is decent.

Either way it isn't fun (until the jungler comes).

Stephenizgod1 votes

Yea but anyone melee is going to miss CS against Darius, he is simply too much of a bully.

Fun is a relative term, i enjoy playing Mao even against Darius.

Irelia -sustain to manage his poke/bleed, and stun to counter his grab. Just slowly doing small pokes and prods, she can whittle him down to all in. I've done it before with her.

Her dashing anywhere near to last hit minions always ends with a Q to her face. If anyone is whittling anyone down, it's darius wittling her down if he knows what he's doing.

MissMikasa1 votes

Not unless you dodge. I've done it before with her. Dodge his Q, dash onto him, E slow, AA and back off. If he grabs me, I stun, AA, back off. I keep doing that, while building a Sheen and come level 6, if he's low enough I go all in with a QEWR combo and he's dead.

You cannot dodge his Q without using your dash. Hence, "dodge his Q, then dash onto him" requires a hilariously brain dead darius to carry that out.

"E slow, aa and back off"

Hes going to AA, W (you get slowed 90%), AA again, and now you have three stacks. Try to run again, he will just pull you and do the same thing, AA, W, AA and you not only have five stacks but youre getting smacked by a noxian might darius.

Darius E is the real issue irelia faces, that ability throws her off her rhythm very easily, unless if she tries to save her slow/stun for the pull (but then she's going to resume trying to run away).

Even Irelia Carries U stated that darius is a rough matchup for irelia, the guy is in challenger.

MissMikasa1 votes

Yes you can dodge his Q by walking out of range as it has a brief delay. Then dash onto him. I've done it plenty of times.

Most Darius players don't do that in my elo. I get in and out quickly without acquiring many stacks, and if I get a couple I farm up with HIlten Style and heal up, then keep whittling him down.

So what if she uses her E when he pulls her? That's what I always do. Stun, aa, go back to farming. He doesn't get to do much there. Unless he's actually going on her to get a kill then her E is probably wasted but in poking and trades its not.

Maybe that player says so, but I've never had a problem. Even if a Darius is god tier and he is somehow beating me, I stay back and wait for the jungler to gank. Build defensive if I have too. But usually I kick his butt not the other way around.

You can't walk out of it if he walks forward while casting it. Did you forget that darius can move during Q cast? And his base move speed is 340 and irelia's is 345. In the span of .75 seconds, she doesn't have anywhere near enough move speed to walk out of Darius Q unless the darius is a total tard who stands still while Qing.

You can't dash near darius, unless if that darius is bad, or there is another enemy minion behind you that you can dash back to.
