Why the hell does she have good utility but still do stupid damage? Her passive is basically Jhins fourth shot on someone who already heals stuns and speeds up her allies, why?

she is squishy, slow and doesn't have escapes (her song of celerity isn't an escape) and her only cc is on her ulti..

why shouldn't she do damage if zyra can

because some supports like Karma and Zyra were made for the mid lane and people take them support, they're balanced around their roles as mages in the midland, unlike sona who is balanced around the support theme yet they have similar damage outputs

the current zyra is a heavily remade version to specifically make her a support

karma never was a meta mider

Zyra is on a completely different level compared to Sona in their damage output. If you're letting Sona free trade so much she can match a Zyra, the problem is you/your lane buddy. Karma should be able to bring more damage as well, but it takes a bit more skill than a Zyra or Sona. (land your chain, then empower Q just before it binds them. Also don't die if they commit on you.)
