Nautilus Support Build?

I've been playing Nautilus as support and its been working well. However, I've been running a "battle tank support" build in low elo.

item 3025 item 2303 item 3065 item 3111 item 3068 item 3143

in whatever order makes sense for the game, usually rushing a Sightstone.

I was wondering if I should switch to the conventional build (and if I'd get more value/success rate out of it), something like:

item 3158 item 2303 item 3107 item 3190item 3065item 3068

Keep in mind that I'm playing in low elo where we very often don't have a proper Dedicated tank. And so in mid game I tend to be the front line of the team, the only front line we've got.

I've found having abyssal as a second item isn't bad in low Elo. Especially if your teams damage is bad. It gives a little defensive stats and the extra damage can help

My normal Nautilus build is: item 3401 item 2045 item 3190 item 3025 item 3068 item 3111 I don't particularly care for Redemption on tanks, and I find that between Face and Locket, you can keep people alive a helluva lot longer than you can with the Eye of the Equinox.

Mastery 7 support Naut main here, this is pretty much the build I go with as well. Usually put in a Knight's Vow instead of Sunfires, but otherwise this is it.

I remember testing the waters on the new stuff for Naut. The issue is he's an engage-tank, not a support. With the exception of Knight's Vow (which is a bit weak rn) none of the items make any sense on him. Typically, my path takes one of three forms.

Aggro Form: Eye of the Oasis into Iceborn Gauntlet, into Sunfire Cape. Used for lanes with bad disengage and all-in

Slow-burn form: Targon's Brace into RoA, then the best resistances for the situation. Bad for lanes. Use only while in a safe scenario

Dreadnaught Form: TB into Sightstone into SFC, Banshee's Veil, FotM.

That's fair, but the key difference here is scaling patterns. The biggest issue with Nautilus is that his kit produces the best results when not using support items, whereas even Leona uses support items incredibly well. Alistar gains direct benefits from support items, and Blitzcrank's unique (Read: Bizzare) reverse-diver combat pattern doesn't support traditional laning builds anyhow.

For Nautilus though, these items are just as viable on a tank aggro build as on a support: item 3110 item 3512 item 3143 item 3025item 3190

Not necessarily. Four of the five of these lack the most important stat for Nautilus: Health. Titan's Wrath scales incredibly well to his health (17% at max rank), but its base values are laughable. These items also lack any AP, which isn't a dealbreaker, but does reduce his effectiveness. Building more than two items with no health, though, spells distaster.

I have 736k Mastery with Naut as support and I've recently changed my build to follow the more support build rather than the tank build that I used to do.

I had stayed around G3 for awhile and then tried the support build and ended up getting to P5 in 3 days.

I usually go item 2303 item 3158 item 3107 item 3190 item 3068 and then the last item is normally a toss-up for whatever item I need for that game. Could be a Randuins, Banshees, ZZ, or even a GA.

I only recently started buying lucidity boots and that's just because I like having exhaust on a 2.5 minute timer, something that I think is very helpful throughout the game. It's not everyone's preferred, but it's what I've come to like.

As for the eye of the equinox, I like the extra slot allotted to a different item. I used to use FoTM every time, and it's definitely a good item for him, so that also just depends on preference.
