"DQ encourages team play instead of Solo play for ego stroking. Individual skill doesn't matter."

Individual skill always matters. Better players = better teamplay.

DQ does promote team play. Problem is the quote should have ended before "Individual skill doesn't matter".

But it didn't, which gives you insight into, if not their mindset, their goal. Reward teams, disregard individuals.

It does, in the same way solo queue promoted individual play.

It gives you a slight nudge in the direction they want, but ultimately lets you do whatever you please.

Except we had two queues just for that thing, solo queue for individuals, and team queue for playing with friends.

The problem is they changed the solo queue system to a pseudo team queue and left solo queue players out in the rain. Either they play with premades that won't communicate with them, and often badger them as a scapegoat, or just not play.

The question you should be asking is why is Riot pushing for more premade teams?

well to be a bit of the devil's advocate, Challenger players can't queue with gold players, even though gold players can queue with plat players, the difference in skill is not THIS big :S

I don't understand what you were trying to say OP? DQ clearly supports team play.

I logged in just to tell you you're wrong. Dynamic queue supports 4 man ganking a solo lane and getting boosted to a higher tier. Solo queue gives you knowledge to adapt to all situations and shapes you into being a more versatile player who can play with any team/comp and still come out with a positive score.

DQ conditions you to rely on your team, solo queue conditions you to play with/around them.

so, making a team play?

DQ conditions you to rely on your team,

And do football players rely on their team? Yes, because it is a team sport, despite the amount of personal glory you can get from it. You can carry the football to the endzone, but you still rely on your team to occupy the other players so you aren't tackled by the entirety of the other team.

solo queue conditions you to play with/around them

And how is that different? (Other than the amount you trust the decision making of your team.) Not every premade has 4-5 players.

FYI, you can still four man camp bot lane without all being on a team, or even agreeing to it beforehand. One game I was a bard with my sister on Tristana(we were only a duo) and the jungler and mid kept on ganking our lane(usually via a portal made by me) and I helped the jungler(lee sin) counter jungle with little risk(bard portals and that). We ended decimating and controlling the enemy jungle and bot lane, and proceeded to win, all without agreeing on it or being on a premade(all together at least)!

The fact of the matter is, if anyone was 'boosted' to high plat with DQ, they'd get literally disintegrated by high diamonds/masters. There's not a Champion that would be safe enough for them to play. Even going full-tank they'd feed.
