Does the 15% healing in Deaths Dance and Gunblade stack?

KnightOfEloHell··4 votes·5,122 views

I had an idea just now for hybrid sustain Morde, letting him build more AD while not missing out completly from sustain AP gives him.

But in order for a Gunblade, Guinsoos, Deaths Dance core to work, I would need for DD and GB healing to stack, thus giving Morde 30% healing on Autoattacks for when abilities are on CD, and 15% from abilities, plus whatever heals w and ult give me from the ap on GunBlade and Rageblade.

Morde doesn't deal enough physical damage to make death's dance worth it.

False, Morde has highest base ad in game.

It's his attack speed that makes lifesteal hard to use on him

So throw gunblade, DD, Guinsoos, nashors/BoRK, you get sustain, lifesteal, AS, and high AD for your already high base damage plus on hit effects.

BotRK against tanks, nashors against squishies

Yes, but the AD scaling is higher than the AP scaling. It amps up your Autoattacks and deals it in magic damage.

But what I was referring to was his base Autoattacks damage without Q. His base AD is the highest of all champions.

I mean, this build doesn't really synergize with his kit.. Go ahead and try it but don't be too hopeful imo.

It's acually crazy strong with stormraiders. I carried most games with it, than did a standard morde build in the next game and did terrible

Almost 100% of his damage to champions is magic. There's basically no way you should be landing regular auto attacks past laning phase. And even then, why aren't you harrassing using your Q?

I do early, but in team fights unless they get close. I use the hidden range w has and the range on e. I've been using the build and it works nicely, but it's a balls build

Its also an auto attack, making the damage stack for the 3rd q, it basically has a 1.0 AD scaling

Yeah, it does the base AA damage PLUS the hybrid multiplier as magic damage (and the base AA is still an Aa), so you still get the 30% healing from the AA part of Q, and the 15% on the magic damage. Add a spirit visage with that, and you are Full of crazy regen.

The only issue is staying on your targets.

Death's dance has physical vamp, not lifesteal. So it being an auto attack doesn't change anything. It won't heal off of magic damage even if it's an auto dealing magic damage. Corki suffers from the same thing.

True. But the point of a DD on Morde is this:

Cooldown for more steady shield Bursty Q, E, and stronger ghosts Sustain from AAING while your shield is up and you are autoattacking while on CD

If you build gunblade, DD, Visage, and rageblade, you get big heals on AA, fat heals on w and r, a bunch of AD, enough AP for your abilities, lots of CDR for shield generation, and just being OP in general.

The last 2 games I did this, I used Stormraiders and could melt ANYBODY.

The only synergy I see here is the delayed damage. Otherwise the physical vamp is garbage on Morde.

The CDR is nice indeed, however do remember that the more cdr you have, the less autos you use (more Q's), and the less you benefit from physical vamp.

Update:

Tested it out on dragon in practice tool. Morde gets the most heal WITH Q. It deals the AA damage as a normal AA (giving you the big heal on an AA) AND the spellvamp heal. Q gives more heal than basic AA

Now you just need MS items and Attack Speed

No shit sherlock? Of course 15% of your enhanced auto is gonna be better 30% of a lame ass auto attack.

Hmmm, you keep forgetting that Morde has the highest AD in the game.

Also, Q is still coded as an AoE spell, so it's not getting the full sustain from either of the items.

His Q deals thousands of damage.

Why should I give a fuck that his autos heal 30% from 200-250 AD?

I can see the build being good in some ways, but realistically it just doesn't help him as much as it would seem.

Death's dance doesn't have life steal. It has physical vamp. Nothing that deals magic damage heals off of death's dance. Morde's Q is no exception.

No, it converts his Q to 100% magic damage.

One of the few abilities to do that in the game.

Huh. That's silly then. It used to convert the damage to magic damage.

Guess I'm getting old.

However this doesn't change the fact that you'd be healing more with any other lifesteal item than death's dance.

they stack and that is perfectly balanced because there is no champion in the entire game with the exceptions of ezreal. akali, yorick, and morde, none of which are in a good spot anyway, who can make use of these 2 items together. if these champs abused these 2 items combo'd i think we would know. if you can find me more champions who can feel free to tell me them

i always thought getting gunblade and dd on yorick was fun because his ghouls would give him a shitload of heals but only for memes

I'm pretty sure getting a spirit visage instead of a deaths dance would be better in literally all cases being as the sustain you would get from DD would be miniscule because you're only getting it from autos.

SV is good against MR with heavy AP built. The AD on DD makes for a strong e, a super bursty Q, strong Ass auto attack when abilities are on CD, and more powerful carry ghosts.

You raise an Interesting concept, might look into it as well. Heimerdinger : TESTING IN PROGRESS!!! Edit: Played a game of Poro King & ran a test in the Practice mode. Tl'Dr is that the Healing Sources do indeed stack.

Overall, think it's an Interesting Item combination as Morde could essentially duel people & not lose HP. Considering that he gains Attack Speed from Guinsoo's Rageblade & Trinity Force (In testing, I chose to add a Trinity Force as I feel like it's a perfect fit, tend to go for the item 3145 /item 3057 combo). However, one of Morde's drawbacks is that he has to be in range of his opponents in order to slap them around. Mobile enemies Fiora /Yasuo could run circles around you & chip at you if you're not careful while ranged opposition can kite you. If you & your team build around this for example: Malzahar Mid/ Sejuani Jungle/ Taric Support You could hypothetically have the right setup to go slap them silly. Realistically though, Morde would need to get tanky & have a way to apply this damage on his own. Using item 3812 /item 3146 item 3124 as your core, you might want item 3065 to amplify healing done and possibly item 3742 for the bonus movespeed. Boot choice would be entirely up to you ofcourse. The tank items are situational, so do keep this in mind.

Here's my build that I used in Practice mode if you're interested in trying it out. item 3078 /item 3146 /item 3742 /item 3020/item 3812/item 3065 Runes: Precision Marks, Armor Seals, Magic Resist Glyphs & Ability Power Quints. Masteries: 0/18/12, Stormraiders Surge.

Sidenote: This is just me analyzing combinations & giving an honest opinion. You are more than welcome to try/play anything you want, don't let me or anyone else stop you :)

I just tried it out. I lane against a Yi and wrecked him ez, but lost the game.

Here's how it went:

They do stack.

I used AD reds, AP blues, AP Quints, and scaling hp yellows. I used DFT, and grabbed runic echoes for Moar shield. (18/0/12)

I had built Gunblade, Deaths Dance, Guinsoos, and Berserker Greaves.

I went Greaves since it was an AA heavy build, not AP, so the attack speed increased my DPS. In hidsight, Stormraiders would have gotten me more net kills, but maybe not because ai wouldn't have had the extra damage (I was basically 2 shotting the people I could catch, and healing off of it, but lacked mobility when I was focused by 4 enemies at once)

I got massively increased sustain from just autoattacking, and when Guinsoos stacks, because it is doing more damage in extended fights, your heals from everything become stronger. It's pretty damn strong, and I could almost one shot like early reworked Morde.

I feel with this core, you could either A) finish off tank, for an sustain off tank bruiser build, B) finish Rylias Liandries for hp, ap for Moar heals and damage for shield, and be Burn Kiaser with DFT and ignite, C) finish with a ludens and lich bane for MS that is needed with this build and be a super glass cannon, or D) grab Crit like Phantom dancer and insert other Attack Speed and movement speed granting Crit item here(the idea is to move faster to stick, and get 30% heals from Guinsoos stacked Crit AA damage dealt, sine you heal more with AA'S with this)

For the tank finish, you are right, SV would boost the heals even moar, overall AND from w and R, too I'll try this next time I do it.

All in all, it's crazy strong on Morde, but you MUST be able to catch them or everyone just kites you to no end.

It also makes you super squish

The sustain is halarios tho

Also, Triforce may be another good addition to the build, I will try that next time, too.

He does. Highest base Ad in game.

The problem with AD morde is the inability to stick, and lack of sustain.

This theory craft is looking to change that.

Since I need mobility, I will use Stormraiders next time around so I can kite.
