Aurelion Sol and the- oh, look, he's already dead. @Riot
I recently made a post (when the Assassin rework was announced, but not yet released) about my concern on the playabality of
, as someone who mains him. In that post, I expressed my concerns that he has already been nerfed a lot, and is extremely vulnerable to assassins. Extremely. Vulnerable. He was nerfed right after release, nerfed again over the summer, and again in, I believe, August (I might totally be wrong here). So when I saw that Assassins are going to be reworked, I wasn't really thrilled. Then, of course, I posted a discussion voicing my fear that with the assassin 'buffs', Aurelion would no longer be playable. People immediately assured me that 'rework' did not mean 'buff', and there was not much reason to worry at all.
And now the rework has been released and shown off. And it certainly does seem like a buff- most of the champions seem to have been given more mobility, or more escape and chase potential. For example, one of the ways Aurelion can quickly escape an area is quickly E away as soon as he sees an enemy champ and is alone. However, if Talon can E over terrain quickly, coupled with Flash, he can land an ability on Aurelion and bring him down, not allowing him to escape. One of Aurelion's greatest strengths is his mobility around the map, and this mobility is a big part of the reason why stunning an opponent while running away often allows him to escape. With Katarina's movement boost, and Talon's E, as well as other minor changes, it feels like Aurelion is being countered, blocked, beaten up, and destroyed at every turn. In fact, I'd say he might soon be unplayable- at least, that is my, now, very real fear.
So, @Riot, is there anything you might say that might show or explain why it's not so? Because I also realize I don't understand or know everything about this, and would like to give a chance to possibly listen and acknowledge why Aurelion Sol might still be viable. Please, explain why this is being done.
Thank you! [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]
