{quoted} Keystone Development

We're still working on that new keystone for the Resolve tree (probably) previously mentioned. Some aspects of it are still in flux, one thing that's looking promising (though also not yet guaranteed) is having some of its reward be some dual percent pen (both some % armor pen and some % magic pen). That makes it appealing on champs with mixed damage types, helps out its users against tanky front lines and helps distinguish it from other sustained damage keystones.

One challenge that goes with that is then ensuring that keystone's best users aren't exclusively ranged champs, getting another % scaler on already high offense builds, and/or champs building full tanks looking to multiply their base damages. We're looking at mechanics like a trigger on proximity to enemies, scaling with offensive stats etc as a result.

Things do not happen instantly. If you want something to be done well, it needs to take time.

They had months of come up with the rune system and they forgot an entire class of champions and it has only been recently that they have been made aware of the fact. It does not take five months to realize a problem that a vocal minority have spoken up about way beforehand. Furthermore the whole "it takes time" thing does not stick when balance changes are constantly made on the fly with almost zero playtesting before going live and having to be hotfixed within days of its public release.

Expectations for a game like League of Legends should rise, not fall or wither away. I'm not expecting things to be done right away, but it has far past the deadline. It's quite literally a gamebreaking thing, as an entire class of champions are alienated and forced into wonky rune trees in order to scrape by.

We have waited months. The time isn't now. The time was roughly five months ago at the latest. They're basically trying to turn in a paper from the previous semester in the middle of the spring semester.

ah, 2 months of rune testing to not fix season 7, but we somehow forget 20% of league champions aren't viable!

Now, wait another 5 months for a keystone!
