If you had just buffed defenses/defensive items

Defensive items are kind of okay (sometimes too strong) early game at the point where you have 1 or 2, but later on they don't scale at all, either defensive items need more power shifted from flat increases to % increases for better scaling or tank shredding options need to be trimmed a bit.

But instead riot thinks everyone who plays adc wants to scale and everyone who plays tank wants get weaker as the game goes on and they are enforcing scaling based on your champion role rather than the individual champion you are playing.
