Hey Riot, I appreciate the Bard buffs, but that's not what he needed.

Yes his W had a stupid high mana cost, and yes being able to Magical Journey more often is amazing. However, the mana cost really was never too much of an issue for Bard because picking up a shrine even early in the game replenished almost all of the mana spent on shrines.

What Bard needs to be a viable, competitive pick is a STRONGER heal. Here are my suggestions for ways to buff the heal a bit.

  1. Movement speed boost duration increased based on how long a shrine has been on the ground.
  2. Remove Caretaker's Shrine's cast time. (Please do this, it would help more than you would think.)
  3. Give Caretaker's Shrine some kind of scaling with the number of chimes you have. It doesn't have to be high, but anything will help.
  4. Reduce the time it takes for a shrine to reach full strength.
  5. Make the Shrine speed boost a constant speed boost instead of a decaying one. 6 Increase the base heal slightly.
  6. Percent missing health heal based on time a shrine was on the ground.
  7. (This one's a bit of a stretch because it would have severe abuse cases, but just throwing it out there.) Give the shrine vision radius and make it reveal enemies who step on the shrine.
  8. Enemies who step on a shrine are slowed for an amount equivalent to the amount an ally would be sped up by the shrine.
  9. (This one would make for some potentially hilarious #LCSBIGPLAYS) Make Caretaker's Shrine count as a wall for Cosmic Binding.

Obviously not all of these would be put on the ability, but even one of these would make it a way more satisfying ability to use, especially in the late game where very few fights stay in a place where you can place a shrine down and have a teammate get it when they need it.

The only thing Bard needs is a percent heal on his shrines in addition to a flat heal. Something like 1% for every 2 seconds it's been active up to 5% max. That way it actually scales into late game. Everything else in his kit is fine.

I like 1, 3, 4, 5, and 7. I assume that when you say "for the time it's been on the ground" you mean during the ramp up time for the shrine to reach full power.

I think a % of missing health would be great on it and it would scale up to idk 10 or 15%. The base heal should still increase by level of course, but the % of missing health should always be a constant possibility.

The speed bump should be the same, it'd start out smaller say 20%, then scale up to idk 50-60% at full power, the duration of the speed boost would be say .5 seconds at base, then scale up to say 2 seconds max at full charge.

I haven't played bard in a little while, so typical chime count is a factor I'm missing in this, but I think something like 2-5 extra healing per chime wouldn't be too outlandish. I think 50 charms in a 30 minute game is probably a normal number if you're actually able to roam properly.

An addition would be making his base skin's shrines a little easier to read when they're at full power, his skin has much more transparency in that they bloom like a flower when full power, the base skin's shrines just get a little more glowy, and nobody either cares, or pays attention to the difference. Aside from me when I'm angry that my ADC is taking the super weak shrines when they don't need them for these crappy tine heals and eating my whole mana bar trying to keep shrines around for them. -.-

Bard has plenty of power, they just need to make it easier for most people to attain. His winrate is crazy as you go higher.

I'd say #9 and the reveal an enemy part of #8. Most good players aren't letting enemies step on shrines, so it's not really much of a boost for them, but it helps the lower elo Bards who can't really stop them.

So a slow and reveal on bard heals.

This cancer champ Bard needs nerfs, not buffs.

His heal is so bad later in the game. Once teamfights are beginning nobody has time to wait for shrines and step on them.
