Force of Will (W) bonus changed to "Deals 20% bonus true damage." from"Grabs 2 additional spheres near the target." Force of Will (W) AP ratio lowered to 70% from 80% Damage lowered to 70/110/150/190/230 from 80/120/160/200/240 Unleashed Power (R) Cooldown increased to 120/100/80 from 100/90/80

W damage was overall buffed, for a removal of the previous passive making her a bit harder R cd nerf? idk about this, it's a nerf overall.

Current thinking:

  • Syndra's ult being on a lower than average CD early leaves insufficient windows to play against her, especially if she gets ahead in lane. Those windows of safety are particularly important on a champ with high and fairly reliable burst.
  • The W upgrade arguably allows Syndra to get 7 sphere ults too consistently and without the telegraph and mana cost that keeping that number of spheres around would other wise entail. It also removes a skill test that some established Syndra players value.
  • If removing the existing W passive we'll need another. The old one wasn't impactful or satisfying, so we don't want to go back to that. Shifting some damage to more target agnostic damage (True damage bonus) has some appeal because it doesn't increase overall damage in the most powerful cases (bursting down a squishy) as it does in the less optimal cases (hitting tanky opponents).
  • Overall power likely needs to come down.

do we really need more true damage though

It's a nerf to bad Syndra players. I'm all for it, maybe she can go back to being an actual high skillcap champ.

Something to think about though, if you land every ability it's definitely a damage increase and a buff. So Syndra players who can do this and don't just rely on the spread stun should benefit.

I do think her Q should get the same treatment has her W just got, give it a 15% bonus true damage since her W wont be holding 3 balls anymore so whats the point in having her Q at 8 seconds for max rank anymore? It worked very well with the with the current W passive, but since the current W passive is gonna take a hike and get a 20% bonus true damage passive you should might as well change her Q to 15% true damage ALMOST as same as her old Q where it used to do 15% bonus magic damage to champions. ALTHOUGH syndra can still get to that 7 ball ultimate easily because her Q lasts 8 secs.

These changes are going to help get Syndra back to being a champion that requires a lot skill to play again, they are terrific.

This direction seems pretty good. Im glad that Riot decided to listen to Syndra players and revert their previous mistakes rather than push through a nerf thats harmful to the identity of the champion. I just wish that Riot had actually listened when many Syndra players voiced concerns that the MYMU changes trivialized her sphere management at the time they were being made.

Honestly I think this is fine. As long as I can't get one shot from one sphere as Jhin I'm a happy person [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

ARE YOU DUMB? CANT YOU FKN MAKE A FKN GAME?

why are there physical damage and magical damage at all? why are there health, armor, magic resistance??

why the fuck do you insist on fucking true damage???? cant do your job or what? do you need walking sticks?

if ppl stops playing league is because you dont put energy into making it a decent game, you just put mobility and true damage in, and new champs, that is all they have.

How come champions as dominant as Syndra (ever since the MYMU touchup changes) are left untouched for so long, and when they get touched, it's this kind of half-assed nerf (because she does, quite simply, need a nerf), but a champion with no visible playtime (e.g. Kog'Maw) can get obliterated within the span of a single patch, and have it written off as a "tradeoff"?
