Riot, what are your thoughts on Draven?

Our favorite executioner is a tricky champion to balance. Tip the scale even a little in either direction and he is either unviable or borderline unstoppable. At the moment, I feel like he's a little lacking not because his power is low but because he's too easy to play against in my experience. the vast majority of his power is contained in his q, which is difficult to juggle on top of giving the enemy team a flashing sign telling them exactly where to aim their skill shots. I want to hear what riot thinks about his current state and what plans they may have for him in the future. Do you intend to give his axe catching a little breathing room? Do you think a minor rework would be justified? How do you feel about his current passive vs his old, both thematically and gameplay? Personally, the only thing I think he could use is a window of opportunity to grab his axes rather than an instant. Please, let me know what y'all think.

Draven is balanced no reason to rework him.

he's really not imo. power wise he is, but he's way too easy to play against. you can essentially force him to either drop his axes (which are already pretty difficult to juggle at times) or tank a skill shot. and bot lane, tanking a skill shot is extremely detrimental because landed skill shots always have friends.

When he had his old passive was too harsh to play against cuz early trades were pointless, i mean that's the whole point of playing against the new draven is making sure he drops his axes otherwise he will get more stacks, one thing i would like is that his axes become more reliable when u attack cuz sometimes i attack and u think the axes will lead towards u are clicking but they go the opposite side..

you can juke a skillshot then W back to your axe(or vice versa) or be in a better position.

if they're good they can aim it and time it right where you absolutely have to choose 1 or the other.

because landed skill shots always have friends.

Not in bronze lol. And that's not because they never land to begin with lol.

Hes a rather unique ADC in that he is extremely snowball reliant aka high risk - high reward. You could say hes the assassin of ADCs. Either he stomps or gets stomped. This is due to his passive and the random nature of his Q. If this is not his identity, they should give him more reliability in exchange for less damage. I mean, Draven probably has the highest damage out of all ADCs against squishies, and his early game is actually rather dominant too.

I had never thought about it like that actually. he's actually reliant on snowballing. I would honestly be perfectly fine with them lowering the ratio on his q if they made his q a little less random and gave you a window rather than an instant with which to catch it, giving him more options.

as a side note, is it just me or is it half impossible to hit his ult both there and back?

I dont play Draven, but my brother mains him. It is really very easy to dodge the second part of the ult, but if you use it in narrow pathways, you can usually get both hits. If you are really really good, you can also try to activate your ult a tiny bit earlier so that it stops directly in your target which then recieves both instances instantly, but that is seriously a very hard task.

yeah that's what I try to do, but it's ridiculously hard. I wish that it took a little bit less time to come back. just a liiiiiittle bit would make me so happy

with practice it's really easy to hit both ways of your ult, you have to manually recall it before it hits the champion so that it doesn't travel past them then comes back, instead having it just hit them twice almost instantly

Draven is probably in the top 3 most difficult champions in the game. he's gonna feel underpowered because of this. But honestly i think they should add bleed damage to his ult or his E. How is he a Blood Brother when blood isn't in his kit?

I Main Swain1 votes

I've always thought of him as the most difficult. I cant think of anyone I see has harder off the top of my head

Azir. Top 3 are like azir, draven, and believe it or not riven. GOOD rivens NEED to know animation cancels and need to do them right EVERYTIME to get full dps. most people do it wrong and actually lose alot of dps.

Well once he gets fed he does ungodly amounts of damage, the likes of which no other ADC has ever had access to.
