Let us mute ourselves

I'm generally a pretty calm LoL player. I have had one 30 game chat ban before, but I don't get super salty too often. But when I do, I tend to take it through multiple games and/or multiple days before settling down. I totally recognize this and despite my best efforts to control the salt, I still find myself yelling at my teammates when they do something I don't think is right. Every time this happens, I always think to myself, I really wish I could mute myself so I just couldn't be salty even if I wanted to. Muting other players only helps if THEY are toxic, not if it's ME.

My chat ban was actually really effective in getting me to control those bouts of saltiness when they popped up. So my suggestion is this: in the out of game settings menu, let us disable chat or induce our own chat bans on ourselves and don't let the settings be changed while in game. I would LOVE to be able to have custom restrictions similar to a chat ban. Maybe a little less strict than 5 messages with 1 returning per minute, but something along those lines.

This would allow me to focus on the game and pings for communication, like I should be, instead of letting the salt consume. Because typically if I say one bad thing to a teammate, it could set them off, which starts a vicious, neverending cycle of toxicity until the game is over.

I want to fix my occasional bouts of salt, so Rito, help me proactively fix it instead of you reactively trying to fix it for me. Is this something other people that ever get toxic would be interested in? Or am I the only one who can admit that I can be a dick sometimes and need to fix that? lol

I do mute myself if I'm starting to tilt. What I do is avoid opening the chat box for any reason, and simply allow my allies to call the shots while using pings to get my points across.

you would still get reported and banned if the enemy team is annoyed enough. when you ask riot what you did wrong you get an auto mated message. welcome to the community!
