The unpopular Rammus opinion

At gold+ levels of ranked play, Rammus broke a 50% win rate somewhere between August or September 2015. This holds true at Platinum+ levels of play, and has only dropped twice at Diamond+ levels of play twice before immediately spiking back up. This would be two whole months before the Marksman update.

Somewhere along the way, Rammus got strong independent of Marksmen getting powerful. Any nerfs to Rammus right now are from an at least somewhat objective balance standpoint on a champion that is too strong, and is not a knee-jerk reaction from Riot for the community finding a champion that happens to counter Marksmen.

I agree, we should only see stagnant picks like Lee, Elise, J4 and Vi.

The champion he wins against more often isn't even Quinn. He also loses to Graves top more often than he wins. He's doing well against Mages, Bruisers, Tanks, and ADCs in the top lane. If his success had anything to do with marksman being picked in multiple roles, then why isn't his jungle doing as well as his top? and why does he do so well against tanks and bruisers but then has mediocre performance against Graves if he's top?

I mean it's both of these happening at once. Rammus has been on the strong side for a while (cough toplane), and the "Marksmen OP" thing just amplifies his strengths, making him more obvious in need for a little bit of nerfs.
