The Boards just became a lot less interesting and a lot more Tedious to use

The loss of Post voting today... I just realized this is a lot less pleasant, and I don't even know what to pay attention to.

Some of the major past posters here have gone on to Reddit, and left these forums behind. I'm starting to see it their way...

So you came to boards to spam upvotes/ downvotes or discuss League of Legends content?

Make your priorities....

Im a major poster and I like the change, it basically gives people less amo to shoot down people they don't agree with.. for example: Oh this poster disagree's with my opinion so im going on my 200 different accounts to down vote him.

I like that the attention is no longer on upvote or down voting and more on the idea or topic that is presented. If you want to upvote or down vote you can still do it in the comment section.

you are why the votes are gone, because they matter and people don't handle them with respect. sucks but better.

I personally like these changes. I literally just logged back onto the boards today, but I've already seen positive changes. For instance: this post. In order to make any sort of point about the post itself, we (the board-ers, or what-have-you) are now forced to: 1) click on the post 2) ?read? the post 3) post a comment in reply.

Those comments can then be properly voted on, showing public opinion without cluttering the space too much, but forcing some minimal level of engagement. I think it's a brilliant way to approach the issue. Maybe not perfect. But an excellent step in the evolution of social media.

As to the matter of navigability: maybe that's an appropriate critique. I'd love to see how that pans out. (I've not scanned through enough posts yet to form a concrete position on whether or not the change improves, degrades, or otherwise impacts my personal navigation through board posts.)

I just myself noticed something personally. Previously, before creating a discussion, I mentally checked myself and edited, so as to remove any tone or misunderstanding that would tend to garner downvotes. (Yeah, I care what you guys think about me, but also, if I have something worth saying, then I would want it to be received as graciously as possible.)

This no longer need be done. (Indeed, mentioning Reddit as an alternative in my OP, would possibly have generated numerous downvotes...)
