I can't even tell you how many times I've lost a game because my teammates decide to say "hey, kills are what is going to win the game, not destroying the nexus turrets, also who gives a fuck about baron???? Let's instead chase the full AP maokai into their jungle and die!"

Obviously the game isn't an FPS, but riot has pushed the game more towards the "action" genre, as opposed to the "RTS" genre. Mobas are comprised of both. It's more like playing a perpetual QTE, than it is playing a game of chess.
