The biggest Issue Not Addressed

The biggest issue not being addressed with these pre-season changes is just how much they effect "FOR FUN" game modes.

It use to be for blind pick, ARAM, URF, etc you could have 2 rune pages, one set for ad, one set for ap / tanky, and still be able to enjoy them hugely because of being able to have many mastery pages to encompass every play style.

This new system is 100% geared towards competitive play only, which only makes up such a small portion of this games community.

Why would you implement a system that actively ruins "FOR FUN" game modes? even blind pick is so difficult now because you have to build specific pages per champion, and theres such a massive limitation on available options for people who havent locked into a specific role before the match making process even begins...

I completely dont understand any reason behind this except to drive "sales" but ruin the player base experience in the process... makes no sense

Ive actually had more fun with the new runes on Ascension/normals.

Old runes I would end up taking whichever is mathematically superior for the champ and what I wished to do with them, so like AS Lulu would just take ADC page for fevor.

This last weekend, and on the pbe before that, I ended up switching runes constantly depending on what I thought I needed. Instead of having to take Wind Speakers on Janna, which was the best regardless if you went full damage ap or support, this last time I went for a Glacial + item active CDR + 5 item actives on her(which competes with Aery+Revitalize or Comet+domination for build paths). For Tahm instead of taking Stoneborn pact, I was able to take Phase Rush(which, unlike Stormriders, is available to Tahm) and kidnap people all game. For Zyra I actually switched the runes a few times from game to game to try them out, instead of taking TLD because DFT didn't play into her strengths.

I don't know much about how it works in blind pick, as I detest having to call and enforce my spot(even though its support), but in ARAM the runes don't hinder you that much.

Limitation on options? I understand it possibly being difficult to get a page together within the time frame, but how does that limit options? Surely you have an idea of what you want to play before hand, and how you would like to build that champ, and options for if you don't get that role.

What "sales"? Rune pages? Because in the last system you couldn't edit them, so in order to have some more niche ones for your favorite champs(like full mpen for Zyra or Brand), you had to buy them. Now you can redo them in pre-game. I seriously don't understand this claim. Plenty of people complained about the old system and wanted it gone, and now that it was gotten rid of they are accused of doing it for money?

Technically with the runes ip cost gotten rid of, people have less of a reason to pay RP for champs(hence the BE changes, because Riot is still a company trying to make money and everything in the game is still able to be gotten for free. That bolded part is important.)
