Why was Arcane Blade mastery removed completely?

Is it just me or it's now much harder to cs as an AP champion (unless you waste all your mana on skills)? Yes, you can take 5 additional damage to minions from masteries, but mid to late game you absolutely have to use skills that have cooldowns, while AD champions can just right click everything (even caster AD champs). Arcane Blade helped quite a lot and I personally am sad that it's been removed.

im pretty sure that mastery was mostly there to help casters farm early game in the first place, rather than mid - late game where everyone used their spells to clear waves anyway... then there's the +5 additional damage to minions mastery that you mentioned (which is pretty much the amount of extra damage Arcane Blade gave early game anyway), and the +AD and AP per level mastery can help as well..
