How do I play against Riven?

I have always had problems against Riven and really, no matter how many times I play against her, I will feed her badly. The only champion I haven't just straight fed Riven is when I played Garen. Even as Darius, I lost pretty badly. Now these are teambuilder but it still bothers me. I am currently rolling Alistar top in teambuilder and haven't played against a Riven in a while.

Also, this happens against Fiora as every single champion. Mostly want tips for Riven because I see her more but Fiora tips would be nice as well. Thanks.

With garen you should be winning lane, not going even. Start with your q and you can completely stop her jumping bs. Go spin then w and at level 3 you just zone her. At lv3 you should win lane. If she comes close to wave just W E at her and then Q if she try's to counter. Heal up, rinse and repeat. You should be behind her minion line not allowing her any cs

Make sure you start with a fair bit of armor, and be aware of her kit and how she trades. Once her Q's are on cd, she is vulnerable to counterplay. Darius is a counter to Riven, so if she goes in to trade, make sure you use as many abilities and auto attacks on her as you can to get bleed stacks going. Both of your ults are executes of sorts, so that part will be a skill matchup and who farms better items. Don't use the pull on Riven until she tries to run away to outtrade her. Also use your Q as Darius as a harass tool whenever Riven tries to CS - make sure you use it at the max range to get more damage.

So you either have to: A) Outtrade her (which only a handful of champions can do) B) Outplay her (dodge her last Q so you don't get CC'd, force her to attack you in your minions, etc) C) Play safe - if she can't hit you she can't kill you. Practice farming at your turret so if she pushes lane you don't lose on CS. D) Bait the engagement when your jungler is coming so that she uses all her movement abilities right before the jungler gets there. If you can survive one rotation, good chance you will get the kill.

mostly depends on the champion you are playing, but as darius: you probably have your q at lvl 1, don't try to trade with her right away, wait for her to move towards a minion to last hit or as she is backing off and hit her with your q. Try to do that 1-2 times before level 2 hits, only auto her if she comes to you. At level 2 you should be getting your e. Same process as before but if she is around half health and you are by your minions try to pull her back and auto. you should be able to get a second q off before she is out of range and if you have ignite you can kill her.

Just remember that she has no ranged poke, only her lvl 6 ult which she won't poke with. Make use of the fact that the outer edge of your q deals more damage. You should also win the smaller trades because of you bleed so go for a lot of really short trades.

try to bait out her abilities then trade or trade with her when they're down, ive had good success with maokai j4 renek udyr and kha'zix top
