You guys ever have that one champion that you're really good with

but it's absolutely boring to play them?

For me it's Nunu. Fun champ while I was (re)learning him, apparently my most played champion this season, I am extremely comfortable with and know the ins and outs of his kit, but I just kinda groan every time I have to play him.

It's really weird in that I have waaaaay more games on many other champs like Wukong and Master Yi in my entire League lifetime, but I'm still not bored by them. Every time the stars align and I'm allowed to play either of them, I jump on that chance and it's always great.

But then comes along Nunu and while he's basically my most reliable pick, and I'm not gonna drop him any time soon, I just feel bored by him.

New taric is brainless freelo and I have good stats on him any time I play but hes lost everything that used to make him fun and gained nothing in return

Sad, really

Deνiruchi9 votes

What do you mean? old taric was all point and click boredom, how do you find it less boring than current one which actually needs to aim stuff.

Anu3isII4 votes

Probably he doesn't talk about skill checks and more about his strengths. Many people argue that his Ult is so powerful and game changing that it sucked most of his budget dry leaving him mostly an Ult Bot.

His former self, if he had enough gold, could become an unlikable Stunning machine that would constantly heal and break you to death, leaving you no choice but to run. His new self tried to maintain some of these aspects (heh), but ofc at a much lower degree. Hence, people who enjoyed Old Taric don't really like the new one.

jocomotion3 votes

Right his appeals all gone! He no longer has...... .l

Wait.... it’s mostly just his old ulti.... I barely remember what that even did. Whatchu talkin’ about Willis?

PB4UAME2 votes

He lost his auras, his AoE debuffs, his AoE burst, his armor shred, his AD and AP steroid (in AoE mind you) and his heal was effectively gutted both in mana cost, and heal value because of how much power budget is allocated into his ult.

Warwick would be so much more fun if his abilities actually works properly and not be Old Morde's servant in his kingdom of bugs

I have my champs, but none of them are meta, so...anything above gold is just a miserable experience.

Morgana She doesn't require a lot of skill to play. You just need to know when to use your shield and your Q and that's it. For that reason I find her "boring". She was the easiest champion I hit Mastery 7 with, even Talon or Pyke where more challenging trying getting their mastery, even tho I both don't consider hard nor easy, something in between.

jocomotion3 votes

Karma - even before her buffs

She’s been my main champion for a while now, but my GOD is her kit uninteractive and boring. You just poke with low cooldown Q’s all game, use W aggressively when you can and just sit in lane and solo zone. Honestly the difference between a good and bad Karma isn’t mechanics, but in knowing what level of aggression she can have early on, followed by spamming RE late game on the “right” people.

Nunu is fun for trolling. If you play him seriously, you will have more fun watching paint dry.

Alistar

"why don't you pick alistar and, win?"

"....no"

Hi im 122 votes

looking at your match history its not that you're really good at nunu, its just that its an actual viable pick compared to shit like wukong jungle and hail of blades voli lmao

TehNACHO1 votes

Pretty sure my winrate's higher on Wukong. And for that I'd point out he's so niche I only ever get to play him in hyper specific matchups.

But I mean no that's exactly the thing. Nunu provides a good base for my champion pool. Nunu's not just viable, as a Magic Damage Level 3 Tank Jungler, he fits in virtually every team comp. I need to actively find opportunities not to play him if I want to play anybody else and as a side effect he's just grown...boring. There's no interesting decision making with Nunu.

Also please ignore those Voli games. I swear I was aiming for Predator but my brain derps out whenever I look at the Domination page.

Who needs to be good as Lux ? I'm sure Master Yi require some IQ to be played (Not going 1v5 everytime). And Yasuo require the same. But Lux just spam Q until you hit than E R.

Master yi? Harder than lux? In what dimension?

Yep, Master Yi require more skills than Lux :) at least you know when you go in a teamfight and when you help. Lux is just spam.

Wiented2 votes

Yeah, i mean you need to aim SO MANY skillshots on Master Yi. Also positioning is important, also mana menagement, also ranges... Oh, no nvm. I was talking about Lux :D

Dude Lux's skillshots are the eziest skillshots to land in the game. Idk how you think

Wiented1 votes

Still harder then Master Yi though :D

Skullgetti1 votes

Literally any time someone explains why Tryndamere or Yi are "hard" they are saying the absolute basics of LoL. Anything that you need to be good at with yi and tryndamere you need to be good at while playing champions that are actually skill-based.

talon, even tho he is really fun to play and really good

Sillae3 votes

....??

If he's fun to play and good how is he boring to play? You're just flexing..

sentosa1 votes

Yes, I am "flexing" my personal opinion. Sorry, but I find him boring to play. You can disagree with me however you'd like.

"tho he is really fun to play and really good"

If he is fun to play how is he boring?

sentosa1 votes

He's fun if I do play him but I always hesitate to pick him. He's such a strong mid lane pick that laning isn't a challenge. Not because I'm some talon or league god. talon is just good

Ragaren1 votes

Sion , but I don't play him more because of the players this season and the state of the jungle. Last two games my team forgot that he had a strong passive and flashed away from an easy double/triple kill.

Aerons1 votes

Well way back than used play vel mid for some reason q range how make weave through minions was easy to idk why. Prob kled or voli now play both of them like complete idoit. Keep going in.

Malzahar - pre rework, i didn't find him boring post rework, he kind of is.

he still isn't the control mage he was pre rework, but after multiple changes, he finally feels similar to his pre rework state, so, i'm good with him again

Amumu Malphite Lulu

Point cursor at general direction of target you want to explode (or in Lulu's case, make GOD)

smash face into keyboard

have a literal stroke mid-play, but still easily carry the whole fight

Warwick. It's a snooze fest each game but if my team follows up it's a good chance for a win.

Revert made her a lot more boring to play imo. RR mind games are gone and combo potential is much more limited. They also fucked her key bindings. R used to mimic the key binding of the basic ability you were mimic'ing, now it uses the R setting. So if I want E to be quick cast with indicator, but W to be quick cast, I can't have R follow those settings. R will either be quick cast for all abilities or have an indicator for all abilities. This can make quick combos very jarring to use if you throw one q with quick cast and the rq has an indicator, same with w and rw.

Profirix1 votes

I used to be good with Shyvana, but any time I want to play her now no one picks any champions with any kind of CC. You are basically committing suicide if you pick her into a team comp with absolutely no CC. Today all anyone wants to play are the bursty assassins or mid lane mages. No one wants to pick CC.

Ionian Vulpix1 votes

I had a 100% winrate on new Warwick. Granted, it was only 2 games and I hated him.

14daysuspensionk1 votes

Maybe Elise, I got her to 7 and just sorta stopped.

General Esdeath 1 votes

Kayn. I loved this guy like no other but now it feels like a chore because you have to gank certain lanes for red orbs and then you have to rely on your team to not run away when you ult someone.

Amumu Malphite Lux Trundle Vi Zilean

Not that these champs are necessarily boring to play once in a while, just that it's once in a blue moon that i feel like playing them. Then never again.

Except Vi. She's my ARAM ezmode firstwin champ. Kinda like Riven with resource management.

PermaJinxed1 votes

Annie for me. Back when I tried ranked she carried my elo... But every game was the same... I'd give up first blood, due a couple more times, hit 6, get a double or triple.... Cone back to lane, another double... End at 20+/6/x....

Brand I just played insane amount of games and watched super good Brand steamer. However I simply got bored of it, as I played it for almost 1 year rarely playing anything else.

Nasus feels absolutely broken but is a snoozefest, Jax too.

Zed genius1 votes

Most immobile mages I play just fine, but I'd rather have fun in my games. If I just wanted to climb that's all I would play, but really what's the point of a videogame if it's not fun?

Talon

Ryusaether1 votes

For me it's AurelionSol

I like him, he has a cool concept and unique playstyle ok, and I do good with him.

But he's so lame to play. I mean, I really like it that I have to position properly and think more about dodging spells and reading the opponents' movements, but sometimes I miss clicking buttons. You just stand there, rotating your spheres, you try to have as little interactions as possible in lane so you can roam, gank, back to lane, rinse and repeat.

I like to have interactions in trades with my laners, but Asol's trades feel so underwhelming and not flashy that it just bores me sometimes.

Śhunpo1 votes

Katarina I hate playing her since she's boring for me now due to how the game is no longer a challenge. I wish I was being cocky, cause then I might actually have 1 mill points on her :P

Zemasu1 votes

I had Swain pre-rework, always liked and played very well the champ, but yeah compared to my other picks (Syndra, Lissandra, Orianna) he were really boring some times. Otherwise I dropped him after the rework, he's no longer what i used to like.

Same with Malzahar, i like the champ and theme, and i play it well. But he's boring.

HEALTH FOUNTAIN1 votes

I really like master Yi, especially the silly ones like 12th lord

you playing him reminded me of a Yi I had in my game that played like he was brain damaged and I absolutely loved every second of it, win or lose

Chogath I actually have a 71% winrate on him jg this season because as long as my lanes don't completely shit the bed (and then enemy lanes invading my jg w/ the enemy jg) I end up getting pretty tanky while building AP, and am able to be a big frontline for my team and usually win.

Its pretty easy to hit the Q in the chaos of teamfights/skirmishes, the silence is very clutch, E is strong against tankier targets plus R is clutch for finishing kills or securing Drag/herald/baron. But My God he's so slow, I much much much much prefer playing Jax Warwick MasterYi Kayn
