"ARURF is bad"

If you don't like it then don't play it? I mean, I doubt a large portion of our playerbase enjoy Legend of the Poro King, but they don't whine on the forum how bad LoTPK is. Sure, I prefer old URF but ARURF isn't THAT bad. Who cares if there's a meta for URF/ARURF, you play what you want. Who cares if you constantly lose or see the same champs over and over. The point of URF/ARURF is to chill. If you're getting tilted off URF/ARURF games, then don't play it. I'd say only at most 10 of our champs are unviable in that game mode, but the other 130-140 can perform well if you know what you're doing with them so even if there are ARURF accounts, it's not that hard to be competitive against them, especially ARURF accounts were made before some of the champion changes which may have made those "OP URF" champs weak and some weaker URF champs have become OP. For example, Kog was a weaker URF champ in S6 compared to him now. Don't believe me? Try fighting against a Koggles spamming R from 2.2k range at a CD comparable to Eve's Q.

This new URF is not fun anymore. Most of the players that are complaining about it not being fun are old players that have played the original. Riot seems to mostly care about what the new players say.

A lot of old players also disliked how quickly the urf meta formed.

Arurf blows. Too lopsided.

urf you mean, because in urf you can't pick a fun champion without being curbstomped by tryharders picking the most OP champions

People wanting to win isn't a bad thing. You wanting to fuck around is your own prerogative and this bull shit random pick stuff shouldn't be forced on anyone.

it's not, there are other modes that aren't random.

Yea, URF isn't random but we get dealt with this worthless ARURF mode which is. People want URF not this ARURF shit. If you want to play different champs each game then you can do that. Don't make the rest of the playerbase who wants to play URF do that.

Quepha2 votes

URF means you get shit on by the same champs every game. ARURF means there's actual variety in the mode.

ATastyDessert1 votes

Variety doesn't mean shit if it isn't fun. "Muh diversity"

URF means you can pick whatever the fuck you want. If you want to get shit on that's on you. I'd rather be shit on after having my own fun by picking my own champion than get shit on having no fun because I literally am unable to fight back and because I don't want to play X champion.

ARURF gives less options (none actually). URF gives more options (literally everything). Why is having more options bad again?

Quepha1 votes

having more options is bad because it isn't fun when the enemy picks some broken shit with no real counterplay, which is what happened every match.

all random means there's a chance you get the broken shit and there's a chance that if you don't the enemy won't get broken shit either.

ATastyDessert1 votes

No, what it means is that YOU as a player will have a much lower chance to get to play something fun while the other team has a MUCh higher chance of getting something you will be unable to deal with.

All random means that if you don't get the broken shit (and btw, you're not going to get them nearly as often as compared to one (or more) person on the entire other team), you're stuck playing some worthless shit like Ivern while 80% of your game time will be a grey screen or you'll be stuck under tower. Sure, your team can get something nice and carry you to victory but that doesn't mean it will be fun for you while you get reamed by their team in the mean time.

It's fun when you can pick what you want in URF. It's not fun when you can't. And since I pretty much only play ARAM (and it is much more tolerable), I can assure you that the AR part of ARURF is fucking garbage.

ARAM accounts still exist. The "AR" in ARURF is effectively reduced.

It's so hard to not be negative when there are people like you around. People want to play URF, can your mind comprehend that? Like, people have a desire to play this game mode, that's why they are here. They do not want to play "other" modes, they want to play this one, as it once used to be, where we had a choice for picks and bans. That used to be fun for us, we could ban Evelynn and Zed and play some new champions to see what they'd be like in URF, instead of playing Lulu and Illaoi. They might be strong, but i don't like playing them in this mode, so this mode is completely ruined for me. And there are plenty of others like me, that's why we are complaining.

I remember people saying they wanted it back Then it came back Then they were sick of it in under 6 hours

but people foregoing fun to win in a game mode meant for fun IS a bad thing, and it's easy to prove that is true, just look at evelyn, almost nobody players her, and in URF EVERYBODY plays her, not because she's fun but because she's OP.

and these bullshit OP champions shouldn't be forced on me to even be able to have fun in normal URF

No, ARURF blows. I'd rather play URF and get curb stomped playing a champ I picked as opposed to getting curb stomped playing some boring useless ARURF random champ.

So one thing that needs to be decided is whether or not you care. By you saying that you can't pick a fun champ if you want to win, means that you are tryharding. You can't play for fun AND expect to win most games.

Honestly I like the idea of ARURF when it came out. Yes there was a meta, yes it was annoying seeing a zed/fizz every game, but at least I could play who I wanted. If i decided "You know what, I want to try crit Nasus jungle for a few games," I could do that.

Now, if I decide I want to play crit Nasus, I have to go through A SHITLOAD of games. I have played probably 20-25 games of urf and every single time gotten champions that I honestly never wanted to play.... 3 games in one day. That is what bugs me to the core about the RNG of ARURF. In 20-25 games with 60 champions available to me, I get a couple champions repeatedly, and frankly they are some of my lowest played too.

From my perspective, this makes an already annoying game mode (where I inevitably have to deal with the full cheese rune Karma/Zyra lane at some point) even more annoying, because now I have to play it as a nami, who i have NEVER cared to touch, rather than my 265K mastery Nasus. The next game i get to face a tristana/darius as a volibear/soraka. I wonder how that would work out?

Now you might say, "you're just not playing enough games, that's a small sample size to work with NotYourSideChick." Ok, let's say that I do get a game on Nasus after playing 59 games, since I have 60 champions available to me. I now have 1 game to make it worth playing 59 games. I could have a great time. I could also have an absolute shit time. I won't know until the game is being played. I have just played 60 games on the CHANCE that I get one good game.

TLDR: I understand why they made it ARURF and it has some merits to it, but it's now a grind to HOPEFULLY get the champion you want, and even more of a chance for it to not be a roflstomp one way or the other.

The reason there are people complaining is, because they don't want regular URF to be replaced by ARURF. They complain because they want regular URF back, and since ARURF is currently the only gamemode that represents URF in a way, the play it. If they knew for example that normal URF would come out in some weeks, they'll stop complaining.

"If you don't like it then don't play it?" - there it is, the classic. The thing is, some of us really liked it, we wanted to try out different champions rather than play the stupid fucking shit we end up with. I've been wanting to try new champions, and keep ending up getting the same old shit over and over again despite having every single champion in game. Yeah, i want to play this game to have fun, not to hope to have fun. Fun for me isn't winning, it's actually getting to play something that i enjoy. Do keep in mind that SR is a large map with lot of flanking options, ARAM works cause it's a single lane, this idea is terrible on a map designed for strategic play.

Its a fun mode.

BUt that also means that if the enemy gets a full CC tank comp, i should be allowed to AFK with no punishment, because thats no fun at all.
