When dives are so common and easy, why can't You just bring back turret's shields on allies?

Think of it... In current meta almost every assassin can go bot, dive turret, kill an ADC who has key abilities on CD and get out alive. It feels totally hopeless as turrets are supposed to protect and defend players. Meanwhile the only thing they do now is killing minions and giving gold for the enemies. That's not good for that structure as an important part of the game because it just feel under powered and unreliable. What do You guys think about it?

Turrets aren't designed to be a 100% foolproof safety net. They are designed to make engages riskier, but possible

I agree they aren't supposed to protect you 100% however they also shouldn't ignore champions that are attacking you just because there are minions to kill, if anything towers should have a minion only attack that can target only minions, and when they detect an enemy champion who has dealt damage to an allied champion within its radius it will switch attack modes and target ALL ENEMY champions in range until either the allied champion is dead or the last enemy champion is beyond firing range, however if damage to the allied champion continues enemy champions reentering range will be attacked instantly and until they leave again. This will make dives harder because you not only affect yourself you can possibly affect your nearby teammates as well by causing the tower to attack them if you fail your dive
