People are saying that they got placed 1 division down after they won like 80% of the placements ? Seriously now what is this BS ? people grind so hard and do their best in order to carry and win those placements to get place 1 division down ???
FHMarshy3 votesHighest rank allowed from placement is Plat 1. Everyone from D5 and above is cramped into plat1 and below and thus pushing everyone originally in that category down a full tier.

But a friend of mine got placed in G5 with 6 wins 4 loses (he was g3 before) whereas another was G2 with a better winrates ratio and got placed into S2 with 6 wins 4 loses ( most of the game he did with my other friend).

Vistha Kai3 votesTL;DR That you will be placed lower unless you score perfect 10 aka 10 wins in placement matches. Even then you may still be lower than you were.
Otherwise what would be the point of new ranked season if you were to get the same rank after going 5/5?

This image shows division changes of the account across the span of two seasons(4 through 5).
Here, around December was the last ranked game in Season 4. Then there was a huge time of nothing aka no ranked games were being played. Then I went through placement matches in August and got placed in Gold 5.
