Maokai sapplings instantly at full growth in bush in support role is fun to play against

it's almost as fun as shen support

weird that people are steamrolling as terrible adcs with unkillable supports

I mean if there's an enemy Maokai in your lane, going anywhere near the bushes is probably a bad idea, right?

yeah so i'm confined to the lane where the only counter play is letting it shove under tower or he stun locks you for 3 seconds straight, longer if he has level 6 while enemy adc just blows you and your support up

entire games always become cancer when top laners and mid laners become viable in the bot lane, these sappling changes were not necessary, not wanted, and just made maokai worse in all ways than he was before

same with Shen, i don't think i've ever seen reworked and buffed shen lose top lane or as support, you can't do anything to him, imagine if tahm kench randomly just had Gragas belly flop somewhere in his kit, that's still not as strong as shen because of the dodge ability

the stat we removed in season 2/3 because it was so toxic, and only jax had it then and teemo / quinn with blind

Maokai doesn't have any stuns in his kit, he's got a couple snares, a slow and a knockback.

So, stunned for 3 seconds? I think not.

Snared and then knocked back into his ADC? More likely.

twisted advance rooting you and the knock up plus ult is you being unable to do much for quite a while, in tandem with say a jinx or a xayah or jhin it's insanely busted, but unlike thresh who can CC you similarly and more, Maokai and Shen are unkillable early without REALLY screwing up, and have gap closers one both of which come with CC

You're right it is fun. Have the saplings chase you into minions to push the lane into you. Then your jungler ganks for you and its gg.

It used to be worse. Right now unless the Mao is actually leveling the Saps/AP, they won't be doing much damage. And they are now MUCH slower at running towards you.

perhaps if they gave his saplings an effect like over time growth. like for instance .. gangplank puts down a barrel and a timer ticks down till he can last hit it. what if the saplings had a growth counter and then do dmg based on which counter the got proc'd... third counter being highest dmg?

on the other hand i think off shoot supports are going to be a thing. someone is going to figure out how to do a fidlde support or a singed support and get away wiht it. But you should be able to have the ability to counter pick and have drawbacks you can play off of when people choose to play an a non support in a support roll. Perhaps the upcoming season masteries and runes re work will come into play wiht that.

it worked like that up until recently, i don't know when it changed but they had to grow over time, now the second they flop into brush they're full growth

ya it makes for hard counter play. and eliminates a path when in lane. i get it.

but that is the point of playing maokai is controlling the lane bush in lane... its his counter play...

oh its not like his saplings havent been nerfed and nerfed... and hey its does MAGIC damage based on % hp ...

ap maokai support dont really work any more so the damage you take from it from when it was a cheese strategy is significantly less. and if there is a minion wave... and you trigger the sapling just to the other side of the wave. and the sapling will change targets at that point.
