If you can't figure out why nerfing the smite range on champions hurts champions with low mobility or purely targeted dashes more so than untargetted dashes, you never will and explaining it to you would be pointless. Riot and players included.

No, you see, nerfing it against champions totally matters to champions that just appear on top of your face from a million miles away like lee, jarvan, and vi, and totally doesnt affect low mobility junglers that have to walk up to you like warwick, udyr, and naut.

This balance team is so intensely retarded I think I'm getting contact autism.

Lmao "same range against monsters" "the idea is that chilling smite makes champions with Targeted/Free Dashes too reliable" Range nerf Targeted/Free Dashes

It's really rough.

For a while, Chilling smite allowed me to bring Cho'Gath back in the jungle, he's the perfect candidate for chilling smite since his sustain and ult allow him to farm/control objectives without the use of smite, so smite can then be used for ganks. His incredibly unreliable Rupture gank, was augmented by that 50% slow, for a while we had a beautifully off-meta viable jungler.

They then nerfed it to 20% movement speed steal, which, while being almost the same for the junglers whose thing is to dash your face and use smite for sticking power (Lee, J4, Vi, Amumu) really hurt my Cho'Gath badly, since it was less about sticking power, and more about landing that stupidly slow skill, but I soldiered on.

Now this has completely, once again, phased Cho'Gath out of the jungle. The changes Riot makes to increase the jungle diverstity ultimately end up killing it, since the strong junglers with a lot of tools in their kit will find a way to overcome the hurdles, such is the nature of their kits, while the much older, linear champions like Cho'Gath, whose use these tools to patch the flaws in theit kit, end up being hurt the most by these general hurdles.

Again, their logic is so really really... weird.

"Oh, this item is really good on these champions who use it to augment their strengths.. let's nerf it so that it no longer helps the ones who use it to cover their weakness."

If Chilling Smite is too good, buff the other smites until they match.

Like giving Trailblazer back some smite cooldown (and while they're at it fix Summoner's Insight's interaction (or lack thereof to be more precise) with Smite's stacking) and make it let you stack up to 3.

Like making Poacher's global, so It's the item for ducking into the jungle, smiting something and then rushing out again to gank (imagine this combined with scuttle speed boost).

Like making Skirmisher's give you the jungle monster sustain vs enemy champions, so it makes you a better duelist no matter if your smite is availible.

And then if Stalker's is falling behind give it a small buff to let it catch up, unless the movespeed steal is already good enough, hell if it needs buffs after you improve the others to compete, maybe increase the range instead of decrease it?

P.S. Seriously though, how about giving Trailblazer 5-10 flat CDR on the smite stacking and letting ur smite stack up to 3.

I like how Riot assures us that Smiting monsters won't be too different, and yet completely ignores the effect this has on Smiting champions.

Riot logic really never ceases to amaze. You would think if they just had some algorithm that gave a random goal along with a random game play change they would eventually have a change that meets their stated goal.

It's shocking that the actual changes never meet stated goals. You know when they say they want to improve diversity it means that diversity ends up going down.

Once again instead of nerfin Lee Sin, they nerf entire jungler nation cause Lee Sin dropping from the top is not approved.
