Like, to promote, you need to win 2 out of your 3 games, and this nets you 0 lp for the next division. Meanwhile, when you get demoted, you can just get demoted out of the blue by losing a single game, and this puts you in between 60-80 lp, not even 100.

Sailor Mint1 votesUnless your MMR is currently lower than the expected value for your current division your LP gains will always be higher than your losses. This means that for every win at 0LP, it takes 3 losses to get demoted.
Also, you don't get demoted if your MMR is much higher than your division and for 3 games after getting promoted.
