Trolling Trundle PIllar of Ice

So why does Trundle's pillar of ice stop a fellow teammate from being able to TP back?! I was less than a second from finishing my B, and the king of trolls decided he wanted to run around and apply pillar onto fellow players. Instead of letting me go back, it canceled my ability to leave... I had to run backward from nearly the other side of the rift because he was griefing our team. Why does Riot allow this and only his ability to affect his own teammates? Seriously bad and tilted three people and I lost promos because of it.
