@Riot, about Tristana changes coming.

So, while browsing around I saw that Tristana was on the radar for potential improvements in the near future. So I want to ask anyone at Riot that might have any information about some of the more archaic aspects of Tristana’s kit. To put this in context I've got some sample AP ratios from Trist and several other AP mid laners.

Trist: 330% AP. Not counting the passive of explosive shot. Orianna: 190% AP. Max, one target, one rotation. Ahri: ~260 AP. Not counting the multiplicative effect of charm, one rotation. Lux: 225% AP. Counting one activation of her passive. Kassadin: 200% AP.

Now these numbers are not strict interpretations of potential damage, as base damages, cool downs, and other factors have been ignored for the time being for the sake of simplicity. However, design is a game of trade-offs. I understand that it would be odd for a champion with the hyper-scaling potential of Tristana to have AD ratios.

None the less Tristana has the highest collective AP ratios in the game as well as the highest AP ratio ability in her ultimate, Buster Shot. Since the time is being given to see if there is a practical window to introduce into her kit for counter play, is anyone going to look at the antiquated ratios of her kit, or are they going to remain as hold overs of older kit design until a more complete rework occurs in the future?

I understand that AP Trist is not a common occurrence, but then she does go to the mid lane rocking an AP build it is a very low counter play situation, resulting in some frustration in laning. So while this is not a strict competitive balance question, since Trist has several “bests” to her name (best range, best attack speed steroid, one of the best jumps due to resets) it seems odd that she has best mage ratios when she is balanced around being a late game markswoman.

Not true. Fiddlesticks has higher ratios and his ult is AOE.

Trist has 1 small AOE. Other mages like Velkoz have abilities that can hit up to 5 people.
