Moderators deleting threads without good feedback and other issues.

On the boards recently one has seen a large increase in posts about moderators deleting threads, either from a more vocal population being subject to moderation, or simply more moderators. Ether way I have also had a thread deleted recently.

I got the following notice from Riot Moderation.

*...You've created some content for the boards. Thank you!! However, to ensure that all content is relevant to the different boards, we have removed it from it's current location and encourage you to post it on a more appropriate board. You can review the Culture and Etiquette within the Guidelines for each board to determine which is best suited for your content... *

This is the Etiquette for Miscellaneous which it was posted under.

There are an awful lot of other boards. Are you sure your post doesn’t go in one of them? It’s definitely possible. We just want to double-check. Well, anyway. If it doesn’t fit anywhere else, Miscellaneous is probably the board for you. Of course, that doesn’t mean anything goes. Stick to the Rules, and make sure you vote for the content that you want to see more of.

This the the board that the mods mot likely thought it belonged under.

The Help & Support board is here to address technical issues, or any other League-related questions you have for our Player Support team. If it’s serious enough, you’ll still want to submit a ticket the old-fashioned way, but for more general questions or issues, this is a great place to post them.

From looking over the other board options it looks unlikely the mods would have misconceived the post should go anywhere else. I'll never know because the current moderation message is a totally generic message without real direction. However assuming that I am right and this was the board they wanted the post under, it would seem the mods need to change the stated guide lines for Help & Support. It clearly states that it is for question for the Player Support team. I had a question for my fellow summoners about their experience, not how to decline a friend request.

Now I have no problem re-posting, but from looking at the available boards and their own guideline, I am at an impasse as it looks like I was already using the best board. Also if I am wrong, I do not see a guideline which fits my post. So it would seen the guidelines would not really capture the nature of what moderation wants on each board.

Please Riot, either provide better feedback from moderation on the boards, or give a more robust set of guidelines in any given board. Though I will not complain if both happen.

it is kindof strange that they don't just tell you what board it should go to....

I can't view that link, but honestly the moderation team is still learning. They can't just say, "Nope, try again," they have to tell you the right way. That way, they don't double or triple their workload with each person who guesses wrong twice.

The responses are likely fully automated, but since it does require a moderator to make the response happen I could see a small addition for a suggested board added to the message.

I second this simply put with respect (Moderators) are often Lazy especially when you get moderators who are just other players who (volunteer) to be a moderator on a forum.

If a post is moved, or an infraction is given the user should be made aware of.

. Why it was removed . Why a player got an infraction . What rule was broken . Where it should have been posted

Not sure if this is the issue here or not who exactly are the board moderators.

Could you reply with a copy of the OP?

I've been here for months and I still don't understand what all of the boards are meant to entail. Altho it has gotten better since I started.

I just try to avoid ever making threads, personally. I've lost hours of work to misguided faith that my post will be moved, or that I'll at least be given an indication of where it should go.

Appearantly all discussions in the boards feedback section got deleted because they decided to open up a Mega thread regarding this. My discussion was also deleted and people already posted some nice explanations why they dislike the current state of the forums. Now everyone has to write their own opinion again, but this time it is going to be more negative since people are sick repeating themselves just because Riot ALL OF THE SUDDEN wants to have a mega thread about this.

If it is really like you are explaining to us then it is really bad, since having a "delete everything that is in a wrong section" policy is like saying: "Thank you for your participation in different discussion. We see that you try to engage and help the community and Riot. But unfortunately your beautiful discussion is in the wrong section, so fck you."

I was about to talk about this.

I think what we need is:

  1. To know exactly what has been removed so that we can realize what was wrong with it.

  2. Suggesting where to post it or either a clear statement of "do not post thinkgs like X in thsi section".

I got these 2 deleted, and I still have no idea what the 3rd (original/first) thing they deleted was:

http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/miscellaneous/r6As2PIh-mods

http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/miscellaneous/Jv7ryLIG-i-make-a-thread-on-miscellaneous-asking-the-mods-what-post-of-mine-they-deleted

The mods are fucking useless.

Absolutely fucking useless.

And these boards are even MORE unusable because of them.

I had a post get deleted earlier, no notification, no explanation, just magically gone. It wasn't nice, but it wasn't inflammatory or overboard. I didn't curse, insult any particular people or call anyone out. I just explained why I didn't like boards and called BS on Riot not having the capability to improve the forums and "needing" to switch to boards as if they couldn't have just turned boards into a forum on a new framework.

Boards are stupid, they ruin discussion and guides. I'll be making my displeasure known and then I'll just quit coming here at all. I refuse to be forced to use "reddit" and if you're going to make a whole new skin at least offer color options. It's called a skin for a reason and if you're using CSS and not a custom skin then it's a development fail.

I'm glad there is actual moderation on the Boards, but this is definitely starting to get out of control.
