Where is the counterplay for Rengar?
Seriously, this is a legitimate question.

Positioning.
Rengar is like the monster in a monster movie.
Don't leave the group and shield your squishies from his view.
You know he has ulted the second that he does now and he can only target 1 person, the closest from him.
He doesn't become problematic until after he has gotten a few Bonetooth stacks.
group and exahust him. lmao. basically just like old rengar don't expect any fair 1v1
CC, moustly. Garen, Syndra, Anivia, Veigar, ... The objetive is not letting him get close and personal with you. And if he does, make him regret it. It is the normal proces with this things. Get used to him.
Giving an assassin an ability that counters CC was the main thing that go me paranoid about the Rengar rework. You can't give someone that power willy nilly.
He can only see the closest enemy during ult (and those spotted by wards). So usually the best thing is to group aroumd the adc/mid so that the closest target is a tank or the support.
Thank you for all the responses, this will help not only me but other players struggling with Rengar's insane damage output.

I tried asking this question earlier. Got a bunch of responses saying 'get gud' etc. So basically there is none.
His main damage tool is now a 2 part skillshot. He is no longer completely invisible. The warning for ult has a longer distance and he can't hop on whoever he wants. His rework was an assassin done right.
The same as it's always been. Group up and kill him when he tries to make a play. Rengar can't jump into 5 people (unless he is stupidly fed, and even then, hard CC wrecks him). He will obliterate your whole team if he gets the chance to do it, so don't give it to him. As long as you don't give him the 1v1 that he is trying to get, you can CC him down and kill him before he can do anything, as his stealth no longer allows him to get too close without revealing himself. TL;DR - "Group up and hit it till it dies!" [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

There honestly isn't much once he is on you HOWEVER..... when he ults has far more counter-play than it ever did. Before hand you as the tank just watched as your adc/mage got removed from the game if someone with exhaust didn't have god reactions and/or you didn't have a pink ward. Now, tanks can actually position themselves between rengar and their squishies like some makeshift "get down mister president" body guard who either is the one targeted instead or he has to walk by you, giving you vision of himself (since his ult is just camouflage) and thus an opportunity to more directly stop him. Also, while the god tier exhaust reaction speed still works, now you can theoretically flash his Q or otherwise dodge it or he could even just straight up miss it if he panics or something.
Now I DO think he just overall has way too much dmg, however he has more counter-play than ever before. Also not gonna lie playing as tanky vi against rengar really enforces the bodyguard feel and I actually find the whole little thing where I escorted my squishies around pretty cool since I knew I was the only thing standing between them and 1000AD or something.
I could ask the same about
.
with 5,000,000 stacks so you can one shot him before he melts you.
with 250 stacks so you can Q him plus R him if he hops on you (This is based on luck and reaction time, Rengar will kill you in 1-2 hits most the time anyways lol).
The reality is there are a lot more options than there used to be. If he's broken it has to do more with his current numbers than him just having a busted kit.
Counterplay has to do with the kit in general, which is healthier than before. If he has too much easy access to AD that it doesn't seem to matter, then he can be adjusted.
Counterplay made by Zed mains
"You CC him. For at least 5 seconds" "Use Zhyona every time his Q is off CD" "Exhaust him. At least 3 times in fight" "Death is best Counterplay" "Don't leave fountain" "L2P Scrub" "Rengar has alot of counterplay. For example be faster than him and never move near bushes" "Pick Rammus" "Pick Malphite" "Pick... E... Rengar" "Ban Rengar" "In case he gets 5 targets for his Necklae, vote for surrender" "Gangbang him 100v1. Maybe someone might survive to tell the tale"
here, there are choices Zed mains gave when Zed was (is) stronger than he was supposed to be.
not being a boosted animal
First off, rengar has a huge ult indicator, if he manages to get close enough to you for his guaranteed crit, you deserve to die, old rengar or new rengar.
(he can only crit on the nearest target to him)
dont be alone, dodge his q. boom ez
stand next to your tank. juggle ult mark onto said tank. as long as the mark stays on the tank you will be able to cc the shit out of rengar before he gets you marked. remember he can only jump on the marked target.
edit: (enter whiny bitch complaining about his W giving him cc immunity) then just blow him the fuck up. its a single champion with no tank stats jumping onto your tank. FUCKING KILL HIM. 5 champions does more damage in a much quicker reaction then rengar alone can "oh but you cant see him coming" this is why you juggle the mark onto the tank so that he has no choice but to announce his general area to you giving you a good idea of whats about to happen. "oh but his team will engage on us" if you cant see rengar. BACK THE FUCK UP. dont give them that chance

Seriously, if you can use the AP, build it. Also stay away from bushes (No fighting in the jungle!) Lastly, stick closely to your entire team. CC isn't counterplay, it's just regular play as it affects all champions. He can also get rid of it :l Even so, use CC on him. A team should always have CC.
I know this isn't actually a legitimate question and it's mostly a "nerf Rengar" thread, and that this comment will be buried in downvotes. I'm not saying Rengar is healthy, but rather just answering your question to the best of my ability.
Here it is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uwPDXO4K1oE
I LOVE how people use cc as a legitimate argument. They're basically saying that unless you picked the right champion, that game is lost. I really don't think CC can be a viable explanation for countering a champion simply because every champion in the game is vulnerable to cc. You know with the exception of olaf.
Hope your team knows what cc is
Watching IWD insta-gib and have 500 AD before 30 minutes is becoming a bit too common, even if I like Rengar in general.
