Quick question about Sated Devourer....

I have been experimenting with Akali in the jungle (don't flat out say she can't jungle without a really solid argument) and I was wondering if her passive magic damage would proc from Sated Devourer. While I have tried to test this, things died too fast for me to get a good reading and there were sooo many numbers flying that I couldn't tell one from another. I DO know that Corki's passive does because I read it at [(http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Sated_Devourer

However this link does not mention Akali anywhere!

IF and only IF this works, I can come up with a really good build built around this (once I figure out the math of her passive and determine the point at which an AD item is going to benefit more than an AP item and what not)... However, it does seem like Nashor's Tooth may be involved.....

EDIT: Fixed link

What do you mean her passive magic damage, like does it go towards her spell vamp/life steal of her passive? Or like when she pops her stack on someone? Because it'll just always be when she autos, stack or now. And as for spell vamp, not much but still magic damage

I am referring to her autoattack bonus damage. Akali's autos hit like a truck once she has a bit of AP and Akali's autos are required to make full use of her Q. So if she gets a 500 damage auto every other auto, it is a benefit worth having as a jungler.

"cant jungle" doesnt mean "cant clear". it stands for "not having any advantage from jungling over going to lane".

akali doesnt have early pressure from jungle that gives her any advantage from going there and she doesnt have the clearspeed to get a goldadvantage from jungling. last but not least, she has no advantage from the jungle items at all so there is simply no reason to play akali in the jungle.

The latter of this is what I am trying to determine from this thread... IF Devourer's on-hit effect bonus applies to Akali's passive bonus autoattack magic damage, then Devourer is worth having...

EDIT: If there isn't a Lee Sin on the other team, she can keep up in levels with the rest of the team... And her early pressure is higher than Diana's (A champ that is a well known jungler) because of Akali's W. The main determining factor however for me to want to jungle her is the simple fact that a lot of people counter her early on in lane and the jungle is a good way to get to lv6 without feeding Ahri.

its not worth having. you need to get it sated first which takes an average of 20 minutes. you cant even get there with akali and even if you do, its simply not very strong to play an auto attack reliant akali who has no cc, no defensive abilities and depends on bonus ad/ap for damage on all of her abilities.

for example, shyvana has extremely fast clearspeeds so she gains more gold from jungle than from lane and she synergizes very well with the smite upgrades aswell as the devourer(and sated) because she has 3 on hit effects in her kit which all proc on sated too so that is very beneficial for her. for akali, not so much. its low damage on her passive and nothing else synergyzes with it.

There we go, a good point made! Akali's passive takes building to wind it up as well, therefore making the build more useful for late game teamfighting, than ganking in the laning phase, which in itself is counterintuitive because whats the point in jungling if you are building for late and not early.

From this I will do more research and messing around to see how it compares to Runeglaive and how early i can get either. This will determine how viable these all are. Also however, I do believe that all of the combat jungle buffs are effected by Devourer, so I will do some damage tracking in that regard.

what combat jungle buffs you talking about?

also "lategame" isnt full build. lategame is like 3 items and at 3 items you could either have devourer, gunblade, deadmans plate and be some sort of bruisery auto-attack akali or you could have gunblade, deathcap, lichbane and oneshot everyone.

always remember that auto attacking takes time and requires you to be free to move and attack.

i will give you an example. in season 5, the most popular shyvana jungle build was devourer botrk because of how well shyvana synergizes with attackspeed and how botrk synergizes with sated devourer even more. it really was the highest DPS build possible last season. now i was (am) the best shyvana player on EUW and for the later half of season 5 i used not botrk but titanic hydra as second item on her. why would you do that you may ask, but it was infact multiple times(!) stronger than botrk, more versatile and much safer while also scaling better.

let me explain it to you. titanic hydra and botrk cost about the same gold last patch (botrk 3,2k and titanic 3,3k if i remember correctly) so there is no difference in that. you can choose which one to buy.

  1. titanic hydra allows you a much more versatile build path because you can choose between more damage or more health depending on what you need

  2. titanic hydras active is an auto attack reset so you can, if done absolutely perfect, auto Q hydra in 0.9 seconds for a total of 4 auto attacks (6 on-hit effects with sated) in just about a second. this applies not only your sated devourer bonus damage but also your W and E bonus damage aswell as the hydras own damage. the DPS is lower but the burst is INSANELY higher

  3. it gives you extremely good waveclear so you dont have to use W to waveclear fast when splitpushing or holding a tower

  4. it gives you alot of HEALTH which makes you really tanky for having 2 damage items and the bonus health synergizes well with your passive.

basically what you do is you trade DPS for burst and chasingpower for tankyness. surely the missing slow is a downside and the %damage was really good vs tanks but in most scenarios, this is an illusion. you cant really chase down people, especially not in a skirmish with other champions involved and ESPECIALLY not when you have 2 fully offensive items. with botrk you can only duel and assassinate but you cant actually FIGHT because of your low health and the fact that you are a melee DPS champ.

also, shyvana has no single ability that allows her to consistently deal damage. if you look at other auto attack champions like irelia, she has a fast dash and a stun/slow while jax has a low cooldown jump and a stun and master yi has a "blink", is immune to slows and has insane movementspeed. shyvana only has a slow, interruptable jump and if she gets hit by ANYTHING, even so much as a weak slow, she cant chase or move anymore. she can only combo once (auto Q hyra) and then attack who is closest. botrk gives her more single target dps but not enough stayingpower to stand and attack in the frontline continuously while hydra gives her the health and added AoE damage to be impactful and hard to kill even when attacking frontliners.

what im saying is, "attackspeed" is an illusion. no melee champion scales on attackspeed except tryndamere and those that have the stickingpower to auto attack continuously (jax) dont benefit from super fast attacks as much as from super strong ones.

sorry for the ton of text, last thing i wanna say: i dont want to stop you from playing what is fun for you, im just sharing my knowledge with you so you can understand the strength and weaknesses of your champ better. if you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to reply.
