for the most part The main problem is that theres no way to defend yoursel the moment you get q'd, sure theres zhonyas and qss, but sometimes you don't always have the time to get them, plus they have a pretty decent cd. so why not change lux's ult to a channel? it'd be much easier to do that instead of dying the moment you get q'd since you'll actually have a chance. https://youtu.be/8NCKn-V2aSE

At least Lux has to land a skillshot. Syndra can just miss a bunch of Qs and Ws and then oneshot you using her ult alone.

Hell, Lux's Q is a snare so you can still retaliate and use item actives. That's considerably more than you can do to defend yourself when you've been hit by a knockup or stun.
Generally, the counterplay to skillshot CC abilities is to not be hit by them in the first place.
