Why do people talk so positively about the WW rework

Master Artoria·1/13/2017, 5:00:45 AM·1 votes·1,571 views

Can someone please explain to me why they think the new WW rework is in any way a good think?

Its a kit the is basically rewarded to split push since from his what I can guess from his number its going to be next to impossible to 1v1 if you don't have an inherently strong 1v1 kit and can go semi-tank like Darius

Its just fits in his lore, and character real good while still having the good parts of his pre-rework kit.

He looks like a bruiser yes but i cant see him being a split pusher with that kit. I suspect he will be played more like Rengar and Kha as in you roam and find stray squishes and in team fights i susprct he will have to use his fear to disperse a grouped up team and ult the carry right after.

Thats what id do anyway.

He looks pug fugly. Remove that gross thing on his back and we'll talk.

He's heavily AA dependent, so once he pops his R and Q, he's relegated to autos to get damage though with thr occasional Q woven in when it's up. AA slows can mess him up severely, as can kiting.

i just think he looks more badass and a better kit to boot :D

He looks really fun to play so im going to have a go at him. I never liked the current Warwick.

have an inherently strong 1v1 kit

Well the problem is ww won't be the only one, there are shit ton of champions in this league that indeed have insanely strong 1v1 kits. What does this mean? This means WW will not be the only cancer in the game, he will just be a new member of the cancer fight. The problem here isn't about one single champion, it's about design team should stop taking drugs while working. Until then, nothing will save this game.

Just because a champion is a strong duelist does not make them an inherently strong split-pusher.

For one, Warwick is unlikely to build a lot of AS or a high amount of AD, like most dangerous splitpushers do. His kit contains an incredibly powerful AS steroid, but it requires him to be fighting an enemy champion to use, making it useless in a splitpush scenario. He has no AOE abilities to quickly burn down a wave and has to resort to autoattacking each and ever minion to death. Without a lot of AD or AS he can't break towers quickly, and since his kit and playstyle requires him to stay alive in teamfights not building tanky undermines his ability to actually fight.

Conversely, Warwick is an excellent pick champion and teamfighter with his rework. His ultimate is an excellent tool for making picks on the enemy backline from range, serving as a secondary form of initiation, his e allows him to disrupt the enemy team and reduce incoming damage, and his w allows him to mop up teamfights should he still be alive at the end of them. As a diver, his job is to go after the enemy back line and try to burn down the enemy carries before turning on the rest of their team, and his new kit enables him to do this.

tl;dr: Warwick's AS steroid only works on champions, making it terrible for splitpushing, while he is actually a good teamfighter now in his role as Diver, thus he is very unlikely to be seen as a frequent splitpusher.

See, here's the thing: Warwick is already next to impossible to 1v1.

In fact, that Darius dude you mentioned? Warwick as of right now, live, pre-rework, will easily beat Darius one on one late game. With almost no effort. Darius will barely dent his health bar as Warwick sustains and DPS's him down.

Just today I played Warwick.

http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/2398125844/211504336

I dueled him at about 16:40.

My items were I believe:

item 1419 item 3047 item 1036

I was fed, but so was he, he won lane and was level 11 while I was level 10.

We dueled in the top river, and I barely won. I might have actually died to Noxian Might hemorrhage, but took a health plant from the river to survive it.

Come late game when both of us were full build, there was no question about who would win in a 1v1. I could dominate anyone on the enemy team solo.

Warwick is not a good champion. But he has consistently been one of the best 1v1 champions in the game.

have you seen his ult and game play, he literally stole baron from rift scutler

Your wrong, his kit is made for ganking not split pushing. It just so happens great gankers are exlcent split pushers bc of their mobility. 1v1? Ganking isn't really about 1v1, its about 2v1 and happens during the laning phase before split pushing can even be done. Why you seem unable to understand then beats the hell out of me. I'm Bronze and can understand it.

The WW rework is good because it fits his lore, and if you compare it to the current WW, its better in almost everyway. Its one lacing feature is the ability to buff ally attack speed, that's all. He's a better fighter in the rework in terms of survivability, damage output, and mobility while retaining his bruiser AD and HP Why is it so hard for you to understand that simple fact?

He's a champ that really doesn't get played often, and when he does it's extremely boring, not to mention he's a beginner jungling champ (I'd go as far to say that any jungler has played WW at least once while first learning how to jungle), and concept wise (or I suppose lore wise) he's actually very intriguing and all of that combined makes him a popular champ besides his current kit. Now that he has what looks to be a fun and interesting kit, I'm sure he'll be popular for a long time, even after nerfs.
