How is rank fair anymore.

This is the fundimental hate that people have with dynamic.

In past season I would often be facing players ranked higher if in silver or gold but that was because of my MMR. Seeing Plats in mid silver for a silver who is not dominating most game is demoralizing.

BRO their rank might be plat but its obvious they were fucking boosted in platinum. They are still silver levelled players dont get it twisted

Have you noticed how those Plats play? Think about it. They basically have Silver MMR on Plat and that should tell you something

I just made gold this week, had to play against plats while in silver as a support for the past month. Now that I'm in gold I got to play against a team with two plats, a silver and a lvl 30. I can't wait for this season to be over.

Went from Silver 1 80LP recently down to S3 75lp in the past month because no matter how hard i try we always end up losing, even if i do good T.T

Yea i kinda wanted to make a post and ask about this and see if it was like this in the past for gold. Like being only gold 4 and any given game I could be the highest rank in the game or lowest. Like my first game yesterday each team had 2 like plat 3-5 players on the team and everyone else was like gold 1 or 2 and I was gold 4. It definitely makes winning harder. In my second game at least people were more around gold 3 rank.... (although two plat 5s on other team but they were shit so w/e).

Like silver never used to be bad since there so many players so its pretty f'd up that you would be seeing higher ranks in silver or bronze. I just assume gold would vary a little more with a smaller player base but its still a fairly large player base and ranks vary a lot every game. Its almost like being in normal queue.

In plats its a different matter.

It's fair in the same way life is. Not at all.

It's not. Because the game is designed to be a never ending money funnel. The longer you struggle to win a game with 4 retards on your team. The more you accept defeat and start to go for looks, Yeah I might have died 19 times but it looked sick in that super galaxy rumble skin 50% off right now.

You get paired against people who have similar MMR to you, not Rank. For example, you're currently Silver. If you are constantly winning, your MMR is much higher than your rank indicates. Meanwhile, your opponent who managed to get into Plat (lucky streak?), but is losing constantly, he has MMR much lower than his rank indicates... so you end up paired up against them. His rank may be two tiers above your own, but your MMR says you belong MUCH higher (and your LP gains will reflect that), while your opponent's MMR says he does NOT belong where he is at, and his LP LOSSES will try to get him down to where he belongs.

The point of the rank is that your rank isn't your actual rank until you're at about a 50/50 win/loss ratio. Until then you're either moving up to (higher win/loss) or dropping down to (lower win/loss) your rank. The game cannot magically know what your actual rank is in only a small number of games, not until you're at roughly 50/50. At that point you'll notice your LP gains and loses are almost identical.

Also, look at it this way: That Plat and Gold you're facing while in Silver? Those two aren't where they belong and they're dropping... or better yet, YOU'RE not where you belong and you're CLIMBING to where you belong... you're as good or better than they are.

Change your mindset and you'll see that what you're experiencing is a GOOD thing.
