Greed and you: How you throw the game by buying items

Howdy! Folks, this is just a helpful little thread about how you, by leaving and buying items, throw games.

YOU decided that YOU are not fat enough with your 5 slots, 2 enemy inhibitors down, and baron buff, that you need to back away from a very easy teamfight to end the game to instead pick up your 6th item.

Thanks to your greed, your team, having already been engaged on, is now short your cc and/or damage.

With the team now wiped because you, in all your haste, felt the need to be the hero and rush back into the fray 5v1, is now calling for you head on a platter. You just lost the game.

You.

You did.

Your greed threw away an easily winnable game by going back to base when you could instead end the game.

And that's the moral of the story.

Sounds like someone's team just threw.

Why is your team close enough to engage if someone is going back? Was said person heavily injured? Were their cooldowns/ult down? Were your lanes/towers all pushed?

I can understand greed losing a teamfight, but the blame doesn't neccesarily fall on just the guy who backed. If you go into a 4v5 or get forced into a 4v5 it's really in part your fault for allowing that lopsided teamfight to occur.

While I know the exact situation he installing about and while I do believe that the fed person some just push with the team and finish, you have to realize that if you have own team fights before baron buff, you'll win them after as well.

Odds are that even if that person backs pointlessly and buys his 6th item, having two inhibitors respawn and fighting 5v5 will have much better odds than fighting 4v5 with no inhibitors.

I don't think it's greed, it's more like overconfidence and the fact that they know they have the entire game in the palm of their hands. We've all felt it before you get 6/0/0 in lane and suddenly your trying to turn ganks 2v1 instead of playing safe and running back to turret.

Moral of story: a bad call with 5 people is better than any good call with only 4.
