You sir are mad. Get over yourself. Its safe to say that you do not know how to play support. You most likely tied support and sucked at it and now want to take it out on others. Supports have a large role to play just like any other role. They are needed. So please do not talk about things you do not understand.

with my everflowing fountain of gameplay knowledge, i have carried many-a bot lane where the carry was helpless against the oppression of the opposition. my sight wards are a beacon in the murky depths of the unknown, shining a light of justice upon those who might try to ambush us and cash in on the loot from our corpses. i fight valiantly to make sure carries such as you get every last hit on every minion possible!

and you know what the worst part of it is? i don't get so much as a "thank you" in return for my virtuous deeds.

Keeping constant vision, knowing WHERE to keep that vision, making sure you peel the correct people, making sure you're not out of place, dealing damage but NOT taking kills, and making sure to deward. All things supports have to do. If you think supporting is easy, main support for a while and tell me that your SS never says you have 0/3 wards, and that your trinket is never off cooldown for more than 30-45 seconds, and don't secure kills by accident with your abilities or get caught out of place, and know who to peel, and I'll tell you it's easy.
