The biggest thing it did for AP Ez was fix his mana problems. He has always done a shit ton of damage, but usually had no mana early game to do it. Now this item fixed that and people are bitching and moaning about his damage.
o: wait EZ's doing well with a jungle item. lets take 200 base damage off of his ultimate then half the effectiveness of his W. and now that he's "balanced" lets make that jungle item not work for him at all anymore. -nods- that sounds about right.

It was never about his ult.
It is about a freaking item flipping the core of a champion upside-down and giving him a strength never meant to be there.
Lol AP Ez was weak, because he had 2 glaring weaknesses (mana and aoe)

AP Ezreal was strong before, the problem with runeglaive is that it speeds up his power spikes. This allows him to reach mid and late game earlier where he destroys teams. The biggest advantage is for him to take Rangers so he can waveclear faster, thus getting gold and items quicker.
I can't believe people are shocked at how much damage AP Ez does. Has anyone played against him on ARAM. I suck at Ez but got a pentakill playing AP Ez on aram.
runeglaive just made him really gay since his waveclear is better and his q does more damage
Same people who cried about blue build. These low damage builds are funny.
Here's a tip: if Ez rushes runeglaive, he doesn't have much ap and his wave lead still isn't that great. If you can't group up and rush his tower/pressure him, that's on you for extending lane phase to 20 minutes for his next item.
If you get a champ with all the attack speed items, they hit hard too, but guess what? They aren't strong until each item comes together. Blame yourself/mid laner for not attacking Ez when he's most vulnerable. Boring.

People are stupid. They forgot how to play or build a comp. against him and are back to the 2013 whining levels of AP Ezreal even when it has nothing to do with item changes or any sort of buff. Give them another month to adapt and they will figure out why AP Ez. became such a niche pick.
I just hope Riot doesn't reflexively nerf it because some idiot players are whining about a champion with zero CC, a long ramp-up time, many counters (35% vs Talon for example), almost no roaming potential, little waveclear, etc. If AP Ez. is so OP, go spam him in Solo-Que and you'll figure out why his winrate is pretty bad even at the highest levels despite feeling satisfying to play.
Meanwhile, keep standing in front of minions and tanks as a defenseless carry. 5-man bush camps. are all the rage too and definitely don't spread out in teamfights. Try to walk in a line if you can. Also, don't have silly things like Naut. or Maoki in your comp.
