Why were people outraged when Soraka had her damage nerfed (by like 20 on her Q) and when a small mana cost was added to her E (you're probably getting Athene's anyways though)? They even buffed her healing but why was everyone mad?

Marthian2 votesAs a Soraka main, her Starcall did quite a bit of damage, even for minimal AP investment. It was actually -20/-30/-40/-50/-60 off her starcall for the nerf. Being spammable, that is a pretty big damage difference over time, and there wasn't much you could do about it. It hit everyone in range and staying out of range was the only counterplay. Her Silence was essentially free poke as well as the Silence. Most of the changes were targetted at Soraka top because she can shut down a lot of top champions over the fact she can just stop aggression with Silence, heal off poke, and push extremely well. I still played her even after the changes as it pretty much made me prioritize healing over Q, and she still heals extremely well.
But yes, I'm also interested in the new Soraka rework as well.
