Why are there stealth ward limits?

I get vision ward limits, but couldn't it just be better to have no limit on stealth wards? I mean there is really no reason to limit them. It is far more beneficial to just buy a couple wards and upgrade your trinket and have another slot for another item instead of sightstone(at least in my opinion), because you can't get the full use of sightstone. Maybe if there were no stealth ward limits and/or sightstone enchantments, it could be worthwhile.

The reason that there are limits on the number of wards which can be placed is so that teams have to share the burden of warding.

Before the ward limit was placed and sightstone was introduced (back in season 3), the standard support build was Boots, Philosopher's Stone, Stealth Wards, and Vision Wards. Many supports wouldn't build utility, defensive, or offensive items because many teams relied on them to handle the majority of vision control and warding, even in high tier play.

With the Trinket system and ward limits, teams have to split to burden for vision control and supports can afford to build items without sacrificing vision for their team.

The other reason was players buying a full invetory of wards and making nazi signs with them.. Oh those were the days

Now, making various symbols using wards is a team effort.

It cant be done actually... unless you want it to be a multicolored nazi sign

The other negative effect besides making supports wardbots is that vision snowballing makes comebacks really hard. A team that gets a few thousand gold ahead can just light up the enemy's entire jungle indefinitely.

Because then supports become nothing but ward machines like it was before the change. No one wants that, specially support mains.

There's people who forget the warding limit and STILL think it's the support's job.

Now imagine if they had an actual excuse again.

So that there's no spamming the wards alot?

Ok thanks for the responses. I remember them changing it, I just didn't remember why. Although what if the stealth ward limit was upped to 5 for sightstone purposes?

To avoid Supports to be bullied to buy them only and place them in every pixel of the map
