Someone tell me the counter play to Veigars R (legit no sarcasm)

Don't get low heath. Just dodge the rest of his skills & you should be fine.
The main counter is to prevent him from getting farmed enough that he can annihilate you with R despite having some MR. If you do that he is squishy enough that he is quite killable with a bit of focus or CC that he would need to hit Q and W first to get a kill against a healthy squishy with at least one MR item. If you let him get free farm where he can safely last hit with double Qs then by the point he is a monstrosity it is really too late to do anything much about it - much like a Nasus.

Abuse him early.
If you time it just right can stop his ult. It's hard and takes practice but it can be done.
gives a huge shield that should be enough to save you. but like zonyas it requires good timing.
Any Item that gives significant MR will stop his combo from killing you, unless he gets super fed, in which case just stay away from him completely until later in the game!
It's a targeted ability so realistically speaking, the only ways to counter it are:
- Become untargetable.
- Neutralize it (with either a spellshield or another spell, like Fiora's Riposte).
- Stack MR items (if you're playing a tank).
There isn't really much counterplay to targeted spells. If you're laning against him, I would recommend a Zhonya's Hourglass mainly because if he presses R and you time your hourglass correctly, you can negate his ultimate's damage.
Play a champion with range
I wish something that did that much damage was atleast a skillshot , but riot knows they are doing and who am i to tell them anything aha
Depends what type of champion you are. AP you'll def want and can sometimes get away with 
. Tank well that's obvious, HP/MR items. AD's can even use and maybe pop a lucky shield.
Have to remember though. your not going to see every top laner or ADC,maybe even the jungler grab a as it's armor, AP and CDR. one stat is for AP champions so champs like 
don't get a whole lot of use form that (wow is every support AP or am I blind to one or two...)armor has it's use on tanks but chances are if your going tank you wont be much of a target to veigars ult so that leaves the armor for squishy's for the damage they probably aren't trying to reduce,but the active lets you ignore one ult from veigar who will probably have one or two more ults up by the time hourglass comes up. not to mention his ult is targeted. meaning when you pop the zhonias he will probably be right next to you when its done forcing you to do nothing so you will have to do a flash if you have it as he has CC so only champs like 
(who already gets an hourglass)and 
can get through. even 
I think if she can dash through veigars wall she would just destroy him anyway so...yeah. And CDR has its use on about everyone. but chances are you either have a good bit of it on every role or have it maxed with items like 
while it's in the air if you're the mid laner playing against him.
I noticed you mentioned playing as udyr against him, and honestly just some magic resist and health, but enough damage and speed to encourage him to run away from you. The counter play could also be healing, as it deals more damage the lower your health is. Grab a bork and make sure he can't get you below 50% without his ult?
these are also key, because if he lands a stun on you he's going to sit there and cast all his spells at you, and if you can survive with decent health you can just charge him. Getting them very early in the game as any melee champion will help you against veigar enough to probably win lane.
It sucks, but you need :
- Not to get caught by/in the walls of the cage
- If condition 1 is not fulfilled, trying to dodge the Q and the W of Veigar
- If condition 2 is not fulfilled, pray for the divine intervention of your support (if you are not the support)
- If condition 3 is not fulfilled, you are dead.
MR stacking will help, but since Veigar has infinite-scaling AP, it won't help you long.
Hourglass/guardian cancer.
From early to mid game mr and hp and dont fight when low hp but veigar is the only one who gets to a point where that doesnt matter after a certain point because then he can just press r blindl and itll one shot anyone unlucky enough to be in range luckily though his r range isnt that great so depending on who you're playing you can fight away around his danger zone until hes the only one left
Depends on who you are playing. Veigar is definitely a champion that requires more focus on his kit and outplaying him than just buying specific items.
That being said, he's pretty easy to outplay in the grand scheme of things.
