Is Smite Support "Really" Such A Bad Idea?

I mean, let's say you pick Ignite or Exhaust + Smite.

You're giving up Flash which is essentially a personal sacrifice, not something that should affect the team if you know how to safely play around not having that escape.

In return you get a second "secure" when fighting over Baron/Dragon.

Is that truly so bad?

I mean, you could even pick Smite + Flash and rush the Jungler items with Chilling Smite which would let you secure kills for your ADC sorta like Exhaust (minus the damage reduction, thou...)

Hmm.

You can take smite support, but when you do it and plan on abandoning the ADC to play as a second jungle and refuse to ward, that's where the problem starts.

Hahah, I hear that.

You are expected to have summoner 4 as a way to engage/ escape. that could work but have to be tanky supports that can endure a gank

so Leona Alistar Braum could work. but I would go item 1408 cause Wards and CDR

doesn't getting jungle items on a support count as the one gold income item which disallows you from getting the support items you need to actually buy your stuff at a decent rate?

Nah, Jungle Items are separate (I think) from Gold Income Items.

Any decent Jungler who sees a Smith/Exhaust is going to camp the living hell out of that bot lane.
