Morning ladies, THIS JUST IN, WE STILL CANT MUTE TEAMMATE PINGS

The difference is that chat rarely ever offers anything of value. Anything that can be communicated can be done through pings. Players that mute chat at the beginning of a game are probably avoiding a bunch of useless toxicity because of it.

With pings I feel it's different. No one is complaining about pings as a whole, it's about the toxic ones that we have no way of stopping. I highly doubt anyone would simply remove all pings from their games and mute all chat before they play, that's just silly. I haven't seen a person /mute all in any of my games recently, pings will be the same.

Having the ability to remove communication between one player should be allowed. Their spam does nothing for the game and hinders the other players from focusing. I know it's easy to go to the place you did of "if you give the ability to mute pings, everyone will mute everything always and never communicate". Will that ever happen? Of course. But will it happen often enough to outweigh the benefit of removing toxic ping spammers? No.

Kinda hard to ignore ping spams since they are all over your avatar. This isn't a "well don't read that post" kinda of thing. This is like someone continually poking you on the shoulder as you walk through the store trying to shop.

The way I see it....if you are in a game with even a single person that is that much of a douche, then comms don't really matter.

TBH, in lots of games, some people don't ping at all and don't listen to pings anyway.
