Ashe vs Yasuo in Bot

Is this supposed to be easy for Ashe? He's not even an ADC.

Yet every time this happens, despite some early poking and kiting by me, he's simply too dangerous to fight (if I get 1 kill it means very little but if he gets so much as 1 kill, he snowballs out of control in the lane).

Also, am I supposed to be able to out-CS this guy? I generally maintain even CS with ADC opponents but for whatever reason, if its a Yasuo, he's generally a dozen or more CS ahead.

Is there some really obvious way to beat him that I'm missing?

The minute I mess up or over push, he just gets in my face and kills me.

Its also annoying that traditional supports (ex Thresh and Lulu) don't seem to provide me with much confidence to duel a Yasuo in a 2 v 2. I mean, if he has a damage support and Yasuo we're probably going to be out damaged.

Yasuo also scales insanely.

So how do you deal with this?

That's a game of supports, since Yasuo will counter most ADCs in direct confrontation bot lane. You need a good peel and you should win.

So its not an ultimate disgrace to lose this lane?

No. Yasuo's kit is built to counter marksman and artillery mages. It feels bad because you have the ranged advantage, but yasuo has built in utility specifically for dealing with that advantage. It's not like a Tryndamere bot, or a Yi bot.

Know that Yasuo bot is not common, and accept that in the rare event it happens, you just need to play as safe as possible, and try to freeze the lane by your tower so he can't dash in for some trades.

So its theoretically a viable strategy in low elo ranked to go Yas bot (if Yas not banned)???

Cause he scales super well too.

In theory, yes it is very good.

A lot of why it is so good is because most ADCs don't know HOW to play that match-up. This has always been the strength of off meta picks. Back before Poppy's rework, I played her a lot top and always had people asking how I did so much damage. If you don't play against something regularly, you will lose a lot of games just based off the learning curve. Think about it, if you play Yasuo bot, and know every ADC match-up well, and they don't know the match-up, you have an immediate edge. Pair it with an aggressive support who can play off of them having no clue, and you have a pretty free lane.

Nope. As Sp33d Zero said, you have the natural range advantage that prevents ADCs like Yi and tryndamere from doing anything. However, Yasuo's kit is specifically designed to counter ADCs in about every way. Easy gap close in lane, anti-range spell, essentially 1.5 auto attacks early game, 2 once attack speed ramps up a bit (Q is essentially an auto.) Double crit makes both hit like trucks.

It's a game of supports. Remove the supports and that lane is impossible to win on even skill footing bar mechanical mishaps. Add the supports and it depends who's more effective, your support's peel or their support's lockdown/damage. Doesn't mean if you lose that lane, it's support's fault since you had no chance. There are smart ways to go about it and their are dumb ways, but that lane is skewed in Yasuo's favor unless your support can pick up your weight as well as his own weight.

To your credit, most Yasuo's I see bot lane, albeit very rare, end up winning it. I'm only Gold 2, so that's definitely a factor, but still, losing this lane isn't uncommon. However, the Q nerf coming to Yasuo will make bot lane Yasuo MUCH harder since part of the lane is him standing in your ranged minions holding his tornado and keeping you off farm with very little drawback other than jungle intervention.

I wouldn't pick up ADC yasuo though. It's gimmicky and kinda like old Yorick. Chances you'll win lane? High. Chances you'll impact the game like a normal pick in that lane? Low.

The lane is for Yasuo to win or for Yasuo to lose you don't really have much of a say in it. Maybe just freeze lane and hope you don't get hit by a tornado, have him ult and get a double kill.

Of course, this doesn't apply to high elo because Yasuo, like other mobile ad fighter/assassins just suck there.

I'm scared to even push when he leaves because when he comes back, I might not be able to run away in time because of his crazy dashes.

Run up through your jungle.

Yasuo is a hard matchup for every ADC tbh.

so how come we don't see more Yasuo bot in low elo?

Sp33d Zer01 votes

Because it isn't meta.

We have a guy on the board who played almost exclusively Darius ADC in high diamond. ADCs are weak early, and anyone who can abuse that is strong botlane. Hence why we have mage supports.

Tough to deal with in lane.

Adcs are designed to scale well, but they are supposed to be a little weak early. Any time you see a melee in bot, you should be thinking "this is a kill lane, and I just need to avoid feeding them because we outscale hard." With yasuo, he's also a carry, yes, but they still have to play without ranged AD. That makes late game more difficult, especially siege-ing and defending a siege.
